8 Years for the obvious
This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it.
Abraham Lincoln
Another in a long line of amazing inefficient processes has come to an end for our government.
True American and local public servant of the highest caliber Sue Myrick spent 8 years to get an immigration court in Charlotte.
Myrick has represented the desires of the Americans she serves, and this alone is a rarity and an example of true “public service”. Myrick seems to be one of the few that understands the meaning of serving those you represent.
During the time spent trying to enforce the law in an efficient fashion, which is owed to the citizens of the region, over 200,000 illegal immigrants have flooded the area.
8 Years ago when an effieicnt process for dealing with the epidemic of illegal residents in this region was needed some force was resisting what 70% of all Americans want, which is the law enforced in regards to illegals.
Why the Americans are not allowed to simply vote on the issue and have what most Americans want which is enforcement and deportation, I will never know. Our government spends time, money and resources resisting what the citizens of our country want, which is no amnesty.
Our government has the single responsibility of representing the wants of the Citizens in the nation they govern, they refuse to do this due to party politics.
Now 8 years spent by our local representative Myrick, just to get the tool to enforce the laws. In the time spent trying to get what is an onvious want and need of the region, the law has been abused almost past saving.
I am not sure who’s interest is being served by stalling and lack of action, but it is not the Citizens that vote, matter and emply the stagnant politicians that refuse to serve us.
“Myrick’s office said the Republican from Charlotte has been lobbying for an immigration court in Charlotte for eight years. She led a statewide petition drive to bring a court to North Carolina. Republican senator Dole wrote U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales last year urging him to establish a court in the state.
North Carolina has the nation’s eight-largest population of illegal immigrants, according to the Pew Hispanic Center, with that number estimated between 300,000 and 600,000 people. Of the 14 states with the largest estimated populations of illegal immigrants, North Carolina is alone in not having an immigration court, according to Dole’s office, citing a report from the Pew center.”
The job of elected officials is to serve American’s, the interests of American’s and the best decisions for the success of American’s. This is the definition of representation in government. Any official that puts their own ethnic group, beliefs or ambitions ahead of the best interest for those they represent is an icon for all that is wrong in our country right now.
While politicians chase after special interest votes and sell the mainstream true American up the river it is a time to remind them that it is our 65% of the vote and not the 5-10% groups you chase that will be voting you out of office.
America is a melting pot of cultures, but the cultures need to truly melt to create the sum of its parts and achieve its greatest potential.
