Jeff katz Charlottereprint - If your not an informed Charlotte local then there is still time for you to be saved.

We have some interesting ying and yang on the radio here in Charlotte.

Since relocating here years back I immediately noticed the god-awful radio we have on FM.
I had lived in NY and Florida both and used to enjoy stations that could be listened to by someone outside of future NASCAR hopefuls.

If you are in the mood for “classic rock” then Charlotte has not only good stations, but 10 to choose from all playing Freebird and Dashboard light every 3 hours!

(Im not knocking those two songs, as they are classics that more hip hop marketing fans should get to know, but every channel?)

Just when you thought there was nothing but country and classic rock, the stations seem to followup Freebird with Justin Timbelake “sexy back” which again emphasizes just how much they suck. Again, this is a good song but the station cant seem to feel its way around sucking to find a decent days programming that melds.

Now, in a desperate panick of pounding on the keys till good music comes out of my radio there is the AM/FM button. This relic from the 1980’s still does what it was designed to do and swithes to the mostly talk and news side of the dial broadcast in Amplitude Modulation. I think if my brain serves me this means AM varies the “height” of the waves and not the distance between peaks of the waves or “width”.

Well AM in Charlotte has a bit more to offer, or better put, has alot to offer. if you have fallen behind in your latest “terror updates” on CNN Infotainment station during the night, you canlisten to real talk and insight on 1110 AM.

I never really knew where I stand in my beliefs so as to give it a name. I feel strongly on all major issues as should every good informed American, but I never sorted out the “labels” and what I exactly was.

I am still not sure, but as I agree with much of what Talk show host Jeff Katz discusses and his opinions shared, I think that makes me a mild Rpublican Conservative? (correct me if im wrong, but labels dont matter)

Charlotte is treated to an excellent days worth of AM broadcaster, better than I have heard anywhere in the past.

I have been a listner of talk radio for over 24 years (yes since I was in my single digits). I think the lineup I now enjoy when in my car here in Charlotte is by far the best informed, most entertaining and most enlightning to actual fact that seems to get white-noised out with the infotainment garbage on CNN lately.

Jeff Katz broadcasts from 3pm to 6pm on weekdays in Charlotte on 1110AM. Jeff Katz is very entertaining, informed, passionate to the point of a “bit angry” and addictive behavior to listen in on.

Again, I am a lifelong listener of radio, and I am a critic of all I see, so I will add he has a few quirks that dont sit well with me. I hope my praise and opinion hold a bit extra weight as I am more than a casual listner, and more of the obbsessive-complusive type that keeps AM radio alive.

For me, Jeff may be a bit quick with his audience members that dont agree with him. I believe him to generally be right in his logical views, but I think he would be better served to let the fools put their own feet further into their mouths. The true way to showcase ignorance is to let it speak, and frankly those calling in to oppose his views on illegal immigration or dealing with fundamentalists can only hurt their cases by being allowed to speak.

From Jeff’s Bio:
“Jeff Katz is a native of Philadelphia where he cut his teeth in politics at the tender age of twelve. Jeff worked as a police officer in Philadelphia’s rough and tumble public housing projects before trading in his badge for a microphone.

Jeff has hosted award winning talk shows in Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Boston, San Francisco and since August 2006 at WBT AM & FM in Charlotte.

Jeff sits on the Board of Directors of the American Jewish Committee and the Republican Jewish Coalition, as well as Jews Against Anti-Christian Defamation. In addition he has served as the Vice-Chairman of the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities and as a court appointed special advocate for children in the superior court system.”

If ever this falls on the eyes of Jeff, I thank you for the time and your voice saying what I often have the urge but not the platform to say. I am certain there are millions of people with the insight to think the things that need to be said, and there are hundreds that have the platform to do it.

I an sure there are many like yourself that have both of these two things.

I am not making you a one in a million Mr. Katz,…

but you are another small piece of Charlotte that more people need to be aware we got very lucky to have.
