Americans Want Laws Enforced
Here is a reasonable and balanced article about the “hold their feet to the fire rally in Washington”.
I challenge Michele Waslin of La Raza to push for a national vote on Immigration, if she is so certain that “most Americans” support rewarding criminal aliens with American Citizenship.
The rally of radio hosts was to protest the Illegal immigration infestation the US is suffering through. You can see the same spin by all the parties for Illegal immigration.
Our very own Jeff katz of Charlotte’s WBT Radio 1110 was one of the many strong voices for common sense in Washington. Jeff was simply asking the US government to enforce the laws they wrote themselves, and this has been alot to ask lately.
Latino advocacy groups try to make it about race because they have no defense. Their stance is to reward those that break the law, they try to leverage this lack of position by calling honest American’s racist.
The hole in their lack of argument is that many Illegals are not Latino, and that many latinos (my family included), agree that illegal immigrants are criminals and should not be rewarded.
The law knows no race, these groups should feel shame that the actions of so many criminal Latinos has ruined the atmosphere for the millions of excellent Latino American’s in this country. This is why many of the honest American Latinos agree that laws on the border need to be enforced. People who are true to their country first an foremost can plainly see the negative impact that this influx of criminals is having our our country.
Honest Latinos in America dont put their race ahead of their country’s laws and best interests like La Raza would encourage.
These advocacy groups seem to want to blame the effect (anger)
and not the cause (Criminal Aliens).
Just like other groups that fight only for themselves and not for equality, they refuse to see the fact that law breaking is a black and white issue.
Also in this article, Michele Waslin says this only represents a small potion of America’s.
Well Michele Waslin, then I challenge you to push for a national popular vote on the subject of amnesty. Let the American’s decide what is best for America.
And when enforcement of the law wins over Amnesty 75-25% in a landslide, then your lies to the media will be exposed.
American’s support legal immigrants, not criminal aliens.

WASHINGTON — Thirty-seven conservative radio talk show hosts from across the country converged in the nation’s capital this week to urge Congress to reject legislation that would offer a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.
In an event dubbed Hold Their Feet to the Fire, the radio personalities set up shop at a hotel near the U.S. Capitol and broadcast live to their home audiences, demanding more security along the U.S.-Mexico border and a bigger crackdown on employers who hire illegal immigrants.

Organizers said the event marked an unprecedented gathering of radio hosts on one topic. Participants included Lynn Woolley, who hosts a syndicated show from Central Texas, and Adam McManus with KSLR in San Antonio.
Roger Hedgecock, a radio talk show host in San Diego who came up with the idea of the gathering, complained Tuesday that “our jails are filled” with illegal immigrants and that they have increased crime and drug activity and killed many Americans through drunken driving accidents.
He said that today’s immigrants do not want to assimilate into American culture and demand to be taught in their native tongues.
“It’s this Tower of Babel nonsense,” he told fellow host Randy Renshaw, broadcasting to Sioux City, Iowa.
Immigrant advocates and Hispanic groups say the talk show hosts propagate anti-immigrant messages and do not have the evidence to support the charges they make.
Michele Waslin, director of immigration policy research at the National Council of La Raza, a Hispanic civil rights organization, said the talk show hosts represent a small portion of the American people.
“This has always been a very emotional issue. As the immigration debate heats up in Congress, it’s also going to heat up around the country,” she said. “Unfortunately, anti-immigrant sentiments and anti-immigrant actions affect the entire Latino community.”
Waslin pointed to a recent poll released by USA Today and Gallup showing that 78 percent of Americans agree that people now in the country illegally should be given a chance at citizenship.
Eric Gutierrez, attorney for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, said “anti-immigrant sentiment has been around for a long time” but the difference now is that radio and TV provide a wider outlet.
Hedgecock said that charges of being anti-immigrant or anti-Hispanic are “nonsense” and that many legal Hispanic immigrants are also upset about illegal immigration.
He said 200 of his listeners came to Washington for the lobbying effort.
Illegal immigration has become a more popular topic on radio shows as the number of illegal immigrants has increased and they have affected new areas. The Department of Homeland Security estimates that there are 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States.
