Never News Just Blame

When did the job of the media become to solely place blame. The media appears to think someone “died and made them boss”. Everytime something bad befalls our country, or the world, the media all try to be the first to place the blame on someone in the public eye. I think the power sickness from past “scandals broken” has led then to completely lose touch with their own job description.

Media sources each have a list of possible “blame-canidates” seemingly prepared to go before the incidents happen. Liberal news blames bush, conservative news blames the bickering Dems, everyone blames our soldiers, everyone blames our cops, everyone blames schools and big business and nothing gets reported.

I wish for a day when the news’ primary goal was to inform and not influence the minds of watchers. I am sad to see that integrity has gone the way of the geraldo. There is seemingly no accountablitlity to produce facts anymore just ratings.

I truly believe CNN sits and hopes for another Hurricane so they can use the cut and paste word TERROR for the next “cool graphic”.

It is a sad state of news in America, where the spin is become so think that it is dictating and destroying the ability of anyone in the public eye to function.

Here is a bit of reality for those of you in the “info-tainment-marketing” which is modern television journalism.

“I believe that clear thinking and clear statement, accuracy and fairness are fundamental to good journalism.

I believe that a journalist should write only what he holds in his heart to be true.

I believe that suppression of the news, for any consideration other than the welfare of society, is indefensible.

I believe that advertising, news and editorial columns should alike serve the best interests of readers; that a single standard of helpful truth and cleanness should prevail for all; that the supreme test of good journalism is the measure of its public service. “
