larrywomble.jpegIs this really the best use of the time of the State House? To step into a time machine and apologize for the mistakes from history books.

Today State representative Larry Womble was on Keith Larson Show on WBT explaining that the state needs to apologize for the history of slavery. Representative Larry Womble explained that “did you know” that blacks were traded as a form of currency historically. He explained that to apologize for the actions of the state in History was an educational need and a path to being “one Carolina”.

He believes that current Carolinians have some sort of responsibility connected to the action of 150 years ago. The representative gave examples of the ways blacks were treated and the laws that governed slavery 150-100 years ago, though he failed to make any connection to what that has to do with our current government or any of the people of our state that pay their considerable paychecks.

The fact that Larry Womble gets a paycheck likely larger than my own is an amazing insult. How can someone so out of touch with common sense really believe in what he was saying.

“we should not be dealing in human flesh, we should not be treating human being as cattle…Were saying its not right to treat human being like that…”

What is this guy talking about? Where is his time machine and when did he step out of it.

Can we please waste our money on government representation that has some clue as to the facts of the current world we live in. I owe no person an apology, I act with integrity everyday of my life and I am ashamed to be represented by people who wasted time with such a rediculous insult to me personally.

Will Larry Womble be apologizing to the American Indians? He says he wont apologize to the Duke Lacrosse players even though they were wronged this very year and not in 1895. Will Larry Womble be apologizing to Japanese Americans for the treatment during the second world war?

The fact is, get in line behind the Jews, Japanese, Indians, Cro-magnons and native dwellers of the Amazon.

This type of posturing just creates turmoil were this isn’t any to provide a personal stage and attract votes. This is really a form of ‘nagging’ that drives those very sick of hearing about a history that we were not a part of and do not advocate.

It is such a horrible history, I fully agree of the horror and shame on our history books that is represents. I will glady shake the hand of any 130yr old man in sympathy for his experiences.

“I accept your apology for the practice of slavery,” said Democrat Rep. Jean Farmer-Butterfield, who is black. “There has always been success when blacks and whites work together to make a difference.”

What difference exctly does this make?

Jean Farmer-Butterfield has apparently accepted the apology, which may be the most rediculous line I read in the entire Associated press story. Apparently this is a good example of how people are bringing their personal agendas and painting them as a good use of the time of our state government. I hope now everyone feels “sufficiently patted on the backs”, and everyone has done their part to win the votes of African-American voters in the state, and we can now get back to the business of fixing the schools and true education of our kids in the state of North Carolina.

As always, I am just asking for some common sense and that some important work get done. This state does have alot of important issues of today, can we just do some real work in government?

I encourage people to write to Larry Womble, remind him of the current year. Just mail him a calender and perhaps he will figure out on his own that it is 2007.

I am not asking to forget history, but to let go of it is a neccesary step to living in the now and making progress. And a bit of perspective on the reality of today makes it pretty clear how out of touch this grandstanding really is.

We would love to get an editorial from any of our black readers regarding the difference this use of government time has made in your life. Jean Farmer-Butterfield says it made a difference, so anyone with insight to this please send an article to
editor(at)charloteconservative.com and we will publish it in your name. As always we want to hear and will provide equal publishing to all points of view on every issue.

I Agree… However, if this is to come about we will require a war

chest… I am attempting to get 1 Million people to send Ron Paul

only $7.00 each per Month… If you have any ideas as to how we

might bring this about please communicate with me and perhaps we

may structure a forum of like minded patriots… Thanks…

    Joel… freedom@switchisp.com

    Meanwhile Consider The Following:

    Our Only Choice!!! Leadership 2008

Can Ron Paul Win? On The Issues

    A Resounding YES!

Knowing this let us then look at the most important benefit… that

Ron Paul brings to the Presidency

    “Leadership”

Leadership is Action Through *Example Not Position…

(It is not a position of power nor being in the right place at

the right time, neither define leadership.

It is defined by setting the example through taking action on

such Leadership Traits as Truthfulness! Honesty! Fidelity! )
Ron Paul Has Acted Admirably On All These Leadership Traits:

“Truthfulness” first and foremost… Then: Principle, Integrity,

Honesty,* Fidelity (to their oaths), Honor, Virtue, Compassion,

    Courage, Vision, Wisdom and Faith.

    DARE TO COMPARE

Can anyone bring forth any other candidate (GOP or DEM, etc.) that

can lay claim to all of these characteristics?

I believe we are all hard pressed to do so… “Strike That”. I

    KNOW we ARE hard pressed!
