Susan Burgess Smoking BanYou are too dumb to think for yourself, so go back to your couch, eat some pop-secret, watch American Idol and let us worry about common sense for you.

Well I cant sit still and not point out the basic flaw of a smoking ban. It removes the choice of American’s to protect a group that doesnt exist. Show me the group of people that are in a smoking setting that can’t leave? If your answer is that they shouldnt have to….then you are wrong, because the owner of the place you are at the time made the decision for his property.

Public locations that belong to us all can and should be smoke free, but private property is the most basic of American rights.

We are in a country where politicians say, smoking is ok if you put a warning on the packages, but smoking restaurants are not ok even if you put a sign out front?

It seems to me that Liberal veiw points seem to be the rich trying to corral the poor with the opinion of them to be “mindless rubes”. I for one don’t need saving from myself.

We need to give you a fine if you dont where your seatbelt, because you make hurt yourself.

We must also not allow you to smoke, even though we support your right to smoke, just not in your own business that you bought with your own money.

If America is free then where is the problem in this scenerio?

1. I buy a piece of property with my money I earned.
2. I build a building to code with the materials I bought.
3. I get a business license and start selling hamburgers and working hard.
4. I choose to smoke and offer it to visitors to “MY property”
5. I post signs to let everyone know that my choice is to allow smoking.
6. I am told I cant do this on my property with my hardwork in a fashion that affects nobody.
7. If this does affect you then I openly tell you to leave, I prefer my freedom to decide over the patronage of those who do not.

This is a clear case of violating the most basic of rights, which is what happens on my own property.

If you dont like smoke, don’t come to my property. If you think its dangerous, dont come to my property, if you think you can tell me what to do when no laws are being violated….then don’t come to my property.

I am sad when we have become a country where leftist liberal lawmakers make the choices for the private properties of others. If there is no need to be there, then government should not be.

Cars exhaust fumes that are dangerous to those on the streets, highways pollute the homes near to them, high tension wires cause side effects of electro magnetic waves, televised drug ads cause unneccesary medication and with all these things happening in the open public, government liberals think the issue worth bashing is smoking on my own property with the guest of my property.

The pursuit of smoking bans and similar controlling and liberty destroying legislation are just another in a long line ofmarketing to the dumb by liberal leaders. The basis of their thought is similar to communism in the way that it removes the need for free decision making in exchange for total mindless control.

The bashing of anything that is unpopular to gain the support of those who don’t think things out is the simplistic approach, and the removal of decision by those of us who are capable of making them is the effect.
