Tony Asion Is Lonely
Now this is too funny,…. I am having flashbacks from watching Katrina coverage where the NAACP spokesman on CNN said that perhaps criminals were looting big screen TV’s to buy a ride to safety.
Big screen TV’s were a survival instinct.
(Watched his say it on CNN)
This next statement from Tony Asion of El Pueblo In Raleigh is equally as laughable.
Here in the Wilmington Star is an article about Illegal immigrant drunk driving rates.
The article points out that illegal immigrants are involved in alchohol related driving incidents at a rate THREE TIMES HIGHER than the national average for other groups of drivers.
Aside from being three times more dangerous on our roads the incident of unlicensed and uninsured is hovering around 70%+.
So Tony tries to blame America for this inability of Illegals to act responsibly on the roads.
Tony Aison says it is the US’s fault because these honest hard working men have to leave their families behind and come here for work.
Apparently, amnesty is the cure for alchoholism?
The lonliness makes them drunk, makes them climb the wall, and then makes them drive down the roads into American University students sitting at a stop light.
Like here, here, here, here or here.
He also slips in that they have to “leave their church”, like we should understand how honest and full of the holy light of god these drunk drivers are.
Hispanic leaders say the problem is difficult to combat because young men leave their families and church to come to the United States for work, but are alone.
“It’s difficult because you’re trying to compete with the loneliness,” said Tony Asion, public safety director for El Pueblo, an Hispanic advocacy group. “Then, as some learn, more come, and we start again.”
And just when you thought he couldnt get more laughable in his attempt at spin:
“Asion of El Pueblo said many Hispanics haven’t been exposed to anti-drunk-driving campaigns, which are common in the United States, and it will take time for the message to be understood.
“It’s not something that you can do easily,” Asion said. “If it was, then the U.S. population would have already done it.”
Tony Asion, tries to assert that its not easy to stop because “everyone’s doing it”. He doesnt seem to have attended math class where you learn that 3 times higher is a reletive comparison. It means yes all groups do it, but the group you defend over the safety of families does it THREE TIMES MORE.
whe you learn to drive by the rules of a less organized and much more dangerous country, then jump the wall and get behind the wheel, then you bring third world driving habits onto our safer streets.
Last year, Hispanics accounted for 18 percent of the state’s 75,000 DWI arrests but were only 6 percent of the population.
Lonliness?
(All this laughing at such a rediculous statement aside, Tony Asion may have a joke of a message, and his PR spin may be empty and with zero merit but his bio is impressive. I did read the great service to our country Tony has given in the past, and in the effort to be true to the facts his past earns him some respect. I am only sorry he chooses to back criminals that steal the freedom his son is currently fighting for in Iraq. I salute his brave son’s contributions in the Air Force, I salute Tony’s past contributions, but I feel shame that he supports the right of those that come to dilute and mock US laws.)
