In Response to the people calling this batch fo statistics about immigration false or not truly sourced, you are almost right.
The sources actual vary and my research has found the source of most of these illegal immigration statistics. It does turn out though that most of this IS TRUE according to federal testimony.

More than 43% of all Food Stamps issued are to illegal aliens.
More than 41% of all unemployment checks issued in the United States are to illegal aliens.
For the leftist pro-criminal amnesty crowd here is a small samle of what is in store for your childrens future. Keep in mind that during the 1986 Amnesty push the number of border crossing increased 1000%. So these are just very low ideas of actual facts about immigration and immigrant criminals that you can expect for your children to deal with.
This is what a YES vote for cloture today represents for the future of your children’s country.
This is the result of 3rd world disregard for the laws and rules being laid down in a first world United States.
These are facts, I would like to see “pro immigration” arguments and excuses to explain some of this. This is the country destorying path of today’s “amnesty for criminals”.

Too bad all this information is fake.
The United States Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) was a part of the United States Department of Justice and handled legal and illegal immigration and naturalization.
It ceased to exist as a whole entity on March 1, 2003 thus no 2006 “INS/FBI” documents…
There is no link to any “From the 2006 (lst Qtr) INS/FBI Statistical Report” on the site linked above, just more links to alarmist right-wing political blogs.
Come up with an actual “2006 (lst Qtr) INS/FBI Statistical Report” and then you might have something.
Your right darren, immigration isnt a problem, there are no illegals here in the US.
How bout you go down to walmart and look down any aisle at all and you tell me if these numbers are acurate.
Keep in mind we are a thousand miles from the nearest border in Charlotte, and still it looks like a la raza march in Walmart.

That is NOT A MYTH, thats from your urban legend link as fact.
Whether these numbers are correct or incorrect isn’t at issue here. The fact remains that we have a growing number of illegal immigrants living in the USA. No foreign person has a right to enter this country, it’s a privilege.
There is a legal way to enter this country. When these people purposely violate our laws, they become criminals. They do not deserve the rights they are protesting for. Yet with all the benefits they can receive such as welfare, the ability to hold a job, the free education for their illegal children, medical care that tax payers pay for, I just cant see what rights they dont already have.I don’t base those benefits on what I have been told, but what I have seen personally.
It is also estimated that 1-3 million illegal immigrants invade this country yearly. Granting amnesty is not the answer because in as little as four years we will have this problem all over again.
I don’t blame them, “the illegals”, and we are way beyond deportation. Yet the answer is simple, go after the people and businesses that employ them. Take their jobs away and make them want to go back home.
I am not sure if I should believe the statistics on this website, but I just want to comment on this.
Don’t forget that U.S. Citizens aren’t the only ones being affected by illegal immigrants. Legal immigrants are affected in the same way also because they work hard and pay taxes just like ant U.S. citizen.
It may be true that illegal immigrants take jobs that no American wants, but everybody is either forgetting something or unaware of it.
A lot of legal immigrants also do the dirty jobs that no American wants also because many of them lack English and they need these jobs because they have no choice.
If in fact that illegal immigrants don’t take jobs away from U.S citizens, then they are taking these opportunities away from legal immigrants who worked hard for their paperwork to come here to this country for a better life and can contribute to society better than illegal immigrants and it is unfair to the legal immigrants. Legal immigrants contribute more to society than illegal immigrants because not only do they work, but they also pay taxes. Illegal immigrants only just take and take and never give back to society.
I don’t know how illegal immigrants can receive unemployment checks, welfare, food stamps, medicaid, and government payments for delivering their babies. They are illegal immigrants and should not be entitled to them.
These benefits are coming out of tax dollars that paid by hard working U.S. Citizens and hard working Legal immigrants and yet illegal immigrants never return favors to them.
When low-income U.S. Citizens and low-income legal immigrants need these govermental benefits, they need to work hard and pay taxes to the government to convert them into the benefits they need and illegal immigrants just drains it out of governmnent funding. Since U.S. Citizens and legal immigrants are paying the taxes, they and their family members should be the only ones getting these benefits.
When landlords rent out apartments to illegal immigrants(Which they are not supposed to do), many illegal immigrants who rent the apartments would divide up the rooms and take the role as a landlord to rent these rooms to other families and they become not only very extremely overcrowded, but it can also be dangerous to the environment and other residents.
When there are multiple families in one apartment, the apartment becomes very messy because of the extreme overcrowdedness and a fire or any dangers to the environment can occur. If there is a dangerous event such as a fire, it will be difficult for people to evacuate and endanger a lot of lives.
When illegal immigrants rent apartments and allow multiple families to live in one apartments, they often rent them in tenement buildings which can be more dangerous to the environment because the tenements are already overcrowded even if it is only one family in an apartment and the tenements are often in bad conditions.
Before a wave of illegal immigrants started taking over tenements and communities, it was bad enough for one legal immigrant family that produced low-income to live in an apartment in the tenements because the apartments are small and very little bedrooms and often very small. The parents would take the bedrooms which are often to small and push their children into the living room to sleep. It is unpleasant to the environment, but I also understand it completely. Sometimes the legal immigrant families would have so little income that they couldn’t afford a house or a better apartment and they are stuck where they are.
I understand it because my family members are immigrants(legally) and I happen to live in that situation.
But when you allow multiple illegal immigrant families to live in one apartment especially in the tenements, that is way too overcrowded, a lot more dangerous to the environment and that is different.
Just some things I forgot to mention. I also blame the government and immigration services for this problem.
The government is too lenient and doesn’t have enough strict enforcements. The rules of the immigration services are not as flexible and that is why we have too many illegal immigrants.
The rules of immigration are, you must have a legal family member in America to make the paperwork for you to immigrate here or you must have a temporary Visa(ex. student visa, work visa)to allow yourself to eventually work for a permanent Visa.
Those rules should still stay in the immigration rules, but create new ones to allow foriegners who have no family members in this country to be able to get onto the waiting list for visas, but to a certain limit, so that way it will reduce illegal immigration.
Here are other steps I think the government should do to stop illegal immigration. The government should make it a requirement to renew your social security every five to eight years with a new photo attached and have a federal bar code to electronically verify identity. This can stop illegal immigrants from using someone’s identity, reduce identity theft, and catch people who are producing fake documents. If the government ever does do something like this, it should never be announced to the public because it will give people new productive ideas on how to steal someone’s identity.
The government should assign governmental advisors to every business owner, landlords, and real estate agencies to stop the employing illegal immigrants and stop renting apartments to illegal immigrants.
It should be a requirement for an employer to go to the governmental advisor for approval for hiring a new employee and doing thorough identity verification on the future employee. Once the governmental advisor has approved of the person being employed, the employee should be required to get an ID from thwe governmnetal advisor for access to the employment site.
The advisor should do an investgation on the employment site every 6 months to make sure there are no new employees without the approval of the advisor. The investigation should be searched of every inch of the area to make sure no one is hiding. The employer should face fines for hiring a new unapproved illegal worker and have the illegal worker fired.
The landlords and Real estate agencies should also follow the same rules for allowing new residents to move in. Once the residents have been thoroughly verified and approved, they should have their photos taken and attached to their records to make sure they are authorized resudents. There should also be an investigation every 6 months to make sure there are no unapproved residents. If landlords are found to have housed illegal residents, they should be facing big fines and the illegal residents should be evicted.
We talk,talk,and talk. Enough! How about we throw CEO’s in jail for hiring Illegals? Turn off the damn job magnet and these people will have nothing to stay here for. No work, no stay. Ask your self this; who did these jobs Americans wont do before this problem got so out of control? ENFORCE EXISTING LAW ALREADY ON THE BOOKS,CLOSE THE DAMN BORDER, AND FINALLY AND MOST IMPORTANT ELECT LEADERSHIP THAT UNDERSTANDS WHAT A THREAT THIS INVASION IS TO THE FUTURE OF AMERICA.
I hear a lot of people blaming the Government for not being strict in enforcing the laws.
I am sure many of you are aware of this, but for those who are not I will briefly explain.
The Government’s problem is not that it is not strict enough. The problem is that the Gov’t is purposely allowing it for many reasons. The main reason is its hopes of establishing the “North American Union” which is the greatest threat to our country today. My family is hispanic, my kids as well. My wife cam here legally from a spanish speaking latin nation. We worked hard for 5 years to do it legally.
for 2 years she could not work because it WOULD HAVE BEEN ILLEGAL. We could have used the second income, but it would have been illegal and against immigration rules.
I also helped her parents, sister, brother and first cousins all come here leaglly as well by sponsering them.
90% of our friends are latino, many of them illegal.
My family has had their ID stolen 2 times in the frist 4 years living here.
Because they have hispanic names the ungrateful illegals steal their ID.
I has to work to remove the hits from my father in law’s credit from that one.
The latest was someone stealing DIRECT TV on my wife’s mothers credit. And yes they had the “extended language pack”.
So guess what, illegal immigrants are criminals. They broke the law knowingly and that shows no respect for Americans.

I might be slightly biased being the son of legal immigrant parents but there is large flaws in these statistics. This newspaper is full of conservative theories also known as racist theories. Its discouraging to find that racism is still so prevalent in the United States. It was all right for your immigrant ancestors to come to America which is the beacon of freedom yet you are so willing to deny illegals the basic liberties they are stipped of, in their own country. Also, illegal immigrants are going into the US to earn a better living, and its a shame that you would slander illegal immigration with statistics of the minority of illegal immigrants who are convicts. Its the 21st century, please realize that people are all the same regardless of ethnicity.

In Arizona 49% of hispanics voted against PROP 300 to allow instate tuition and grants for illegals.
So even honest true Americans of hispanic families understand that the law needs to be enforced against these criminals.

Ok, I understand that people want a better life for their family and they want the “American Dream”, but the fact is that they are doing more damage to this country and take away the “American Dream”.
What I think needs to happen is we make becoming a legal immigrant easier in the US and we offer limited time peroid jobs where we ship people from Mexico to America for work and after a certain time period we send them back. If it is government controled taxes would be payed and the people who need the money get the money and live in Mexico. I know the arguement on the other side might be “By doing that you would take away Jobs for Ameicans”, my response to that is We have been so blessed by God in this Country their really isn’t a good excuse for someone that is healthy to not be educated and working.

WOW. Whoever wrote this really needs to do some research. These statistics are very wrong. There’s only about 6 channels that are in spanish in Phoenix and there’s a lot of channels. Now, we all refer to those persons who enter our country in other ways than the lawfully accepted procedure as “illegal immigrants”. This is immediately saying that they are breaking the law. They have entered this country in and unlawful manner, therefore making them criminals.
What more needs to be said? We provide health care and jobs to criminals running around on the street. Why must we put up with this? Yet we are called racist for trying to put up a fight against it. Seriously people, what ARE we coming to.

Why should we give benefits such as health care and driver licenses to people who have become criminals? No matter how bad a situation is in a third world country, those who truly wish to immigrate can do it legally. Yes, it takes work. Gaining the freedoms that we take for granted today took work for our Country to grant. We fought a whole war for those freedoms people. So why can’t people legally immigrate? It’s not any easier in ANY other country in the world.

First World means: The United States, Great Britain, and their allies in the fight against communism.
Second World means: Communist countries
Third World means: those countries that are too small (or neutral) to make a difference.
Many of these Latin American countries are turning to communism. They are becoming SECOND WORLD countries.

I am nineteen and I am a freshmen,girl in college. I was assigned to write about illegal immigration and the negative effects it has on our economy and stumbled across this.
It is absolutly disgusting how much money is wasted on people who unlawfully come to America. From someone just coming out of the educational system of our country, illegal students do nothing but lessen the learning enviroment. Everyday in the lunch line these illegal aliens would get to the cafeteria first, i don’t know how, but by the time the paying students, such as myself, would get to the line it would be half way out of the cafeteria. We had a blind student at our school, very briefly, my school could not fund brail classes for her so she had to leave. Which was very ironic because the school could fund ESOL classes, every period of the day, which were overcrowded so they had to hire a teachers assistance….more money. I think I counted at least three buses with Mexican students on them…unnessicary expenditure for the citizens. You want to talk about gangs? A kid died in my class from a gang shooting. Illegal Mexican “gangster” girls used to pull razors out from under their tounges in the bathroom. I had two classes with pregnaunt illegal citizens…Mexican! You know whats really funny about all this crime and low funds? I live in a upper class suburb called Dunwoody in Atlanta Georgia. Puff Daddy and the Wendy’s owner lives near me. We don’t even have many cops around here. But sure enough at school we had two cops and a drug dog. I’m tired of pulling up to gas staitons and seeing the illegal workers stand around and wait for jobs. As a whole, illegal and legal foreign-born immigrants make up 11.5% of our country’s population, or about 31 million people, according to the Center for Immigration Studies. The largest percentage of any specific “illegal immigrant” group is actually from people who mostly appear to be caucasian, but are from countries closest to Europe, not Mexico. Those countries include, but are not limited to, England, France, Poland, Russia, Yugoslavia, what used to be known as Czechoslovakia, and various other countries on the same continent. How do these people get here? They come here with a visa, and when their visa expires, they simply stay. Generally, people tend to notice “outsiders” with a different skin color -and- who speak a different language before they think that someone who looks similarly would be from a different country.
It’s important to uphold our countries’ laws, but don’t use our laws as a way to justify racism and traditionalism. If you want to protect the sanctity and freedom American citizens enjoy, get educated, get your facts straight, and argue cleanly. Most of the argument techniques being used on this page fall into a few categories of fallacies, i.e. things that are untrue assumptions: circular logic (example: “I believe what I’ve been taught because I go to school.”), the slippery slope fallacy (example: “If we allow this to happen, this next thing will also follow suit.”), and oversimplification, also known as the Either/or fallacy (example: “Either you’re with us or against us.”).Take a philosophy course, read up on the stuff you’re saying before you say it. 1. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools.
2. All ballots will be in this nation’s language.
3. All government business will be conducted in our language.
4. Non-residents will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they are here.
5. Non-citizens will NEVER be able to hold political office.
6. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, or other government assistance programs. Any burden will be deported.
7. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount at least equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.
8. If foreigners come here and buy land… options will be restricted. Certain parcels including waterfront property are reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.
9. Foreigners may have no protests; no demonstrations, no waving of a foreign flag, no political organizing, no bad- mouthing our president or his policies. These will lead to deportation.
10. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be actively hunted &, when caught, sent to jail until your deportation can be arranged. All assets will be taken from you.

I’m a high school freshman and my mom has lung cancer. Since my dad works and my brother and I need to go to school, my mom has to stay home by herself. My aunt was given a temporary visa, which took months to get, just so she could come and take care of my mom. I know I’m not very educated about this topic, but I think it’s unfair that illegal immigrants can come more easily, even if there’s the consequences for them.
There are an estimated 11 million illegal aliens currently residing within the borders of the United States of America. Many critics believe a more accurate estimate is closer to 20 million. No matter what the number is, there are serious implications these undocumented people place on the American society!
Implication number one – there is an enormous financial burden placed upon American taxpayers to cover the cost of housing illegal aliens. According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform FAIR, “The annual net cost of illegal immigrants (after subtracting their tax payments) to the American taxpayer is likely to be more than $45 billion.” Costs include the use of the Medicare system, the use of our public education, incarceration of criminals, use of the welfare system, and the cost of the immigration system itself.
Implication number two – with illegal immigration comes illegal criminals. It does not take a genius to figure that if there are 11 million people living in this county unaccounted for, some of those people are bad. In fact The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), in a 04/07/05 report to Congress entitled “Information on Criminal Aliens Incarcerated in Federal and State Prisons and Local Jails,” states that at the end of 2004 there were approximately 49,000 illegal aliens incarcerated out of a total of 179,000 inmates (a 27% rate of illegal inmates) at an estimated cost of 1.2 billion dollars to house them. Some of the most ruthless criminals, in fact, are illegal aliens. Members of the MS-13 gang, 18th Street gang, Columbia Lil’ Cycos gang, and numerous other gangs are filtering violent criminals through our borders and harboring them here. One murderer, rapist, sexual predator, or drug/arms trafficker is too many.
Implication number three – our children’s education suffers because of the overcrowding illegal children cause. According to Pew Hispanic Center, 3.1 million citizen children are born to an unauthorized parent, and 1.6 million children are unauthorized themselves for a total of 4.7 million children under the age of 18 that need to be educated. The time and energy a teacher uses to teach a non-English speaking student should be used solely to further the educational interests of native English speaking children.
Implication number four – illegal immigrants take jobs away from Americans. According to Pew Hispanic Center, there were approximately 7.5 million unauthorized workers in 2005. Most of the jobs these aliens hold are in low wage and low education fields. Critics will say that illegal aliens do the jobs most Americans will not do; however, low income Americans may beg to differ. Not all of the 7.5 million people are mowing lawns, picking produce, or house cleaning. Most are employed in jobs were the unscrupulous employer does not bother to check the immigration status of the worker and hires them at a rate cheaper than the minimum wage.
WE NEED TO REFORM OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM!
The solution to the illegal alien problem in America is quite simple. All American citizens would be required to register once a year with the DCR, Department of Citizen Registration. Automobiles, boats, bikes, etc… require yearly registration, so too will citizens. Fingerprints, photographs, social security card, and birth certificate/citizenship documentation will all be verified on a yearly basis. A Citizen Identification Number CIN will be tattooed on the person’s right wrist. A citizenship badge will be issued with the citizen’s photo, CIN number and personal information. All citizens MUST wear the badge at all times. Visitors to the country will be issued a Visitor Authorization Badge VA which must be worn at all times.
All Aliens would be subject to “Campaign X”. Any illegal alien found within the borders of the United States would be given a tattooed marking in the middle of their forehead in the shape of an X. This would be their identifying mark to let the country know they are here illegally. On their left wrist would be tattooed an Alien Identification Number AIN for tracking purposes and to make certain the identity of an American citizen has not been used. They would then be transported into specially located “Controlled Compounds” were they will be given the opportunity to work legally in the USA. They will be supplied with food, shelter and medical care; however, they must comply with any and all employment requests from the US Government, including, but not limited to physical labor, medical research, military research, etc.
A secret team of Special Service Agents (S.S.) will be authorized to conduct random searches for aliens and any persons who may be harboring such individuals. Any citizens found guilty of aiding and abedding illegal criminals will also be subject to the laws of “Campaign X”.
If an alien is employed in an approved unskilled job, he will be issued a Justly Employed Worker badge “JEW”, which must be worn at all times. He is then free to leave the “Controlled Compound”. However, if a citizen wants the job of the “JEW”, it is his citizen right to take the job at the national minimum wage rate and the employer must hire him without question. In order to satisfy an employer looking to hire cheap workers, the employer can petition the local “Controlled Compound” requesting permission to hire. If the job description is satisfactorily compatible with the hiring of aliens, then the petition will be granted. If a “JEW” is not acceptable, then the employer must call the Alien Patrol (AP) to have the “JEW” transported back to the “Controlled Compound”.
All children of aliens will not be allowed in public schools. They will instead be taught the skills necessary to be an effective “JEW”.
It is common knowledge that aliens are inferior to citizens, therefore, the purity of citizen blood must be kept clean. The sanctity of our citizen women is of the utmost importance. Any alien male caught fornicating with a citizen woman will face immediate castration.
If any of the terms of “Campaign X” are unsatisfactory to the alien, they have the right, their only right, to go back to their country of origin. The option is theirs.

We work hard as a country to secure our airports and even created a no-fly list that disallows certain individuals, by name, from flying anywhere in the world. Yet our borders are more or less wide open.
1-3 million people enter this country illegally each year. Maybe more. It is a misnomer that they or even most of them are Mexican. Just as many come from Guatemala, El Salvador, etc. Iraqi nationals have been caught trying to sneak into the US from Mexico.
So how many of the 1-3 million or more that sneak into the US each year are terrorists? I would not necessarily be able differentiate between a Middle-Eastern man and a Hispanic man in that setting and in similar garb.
How many millions (maybe billions) of dollars worth of illegal drugs are smuggled into the country each year? Can’t be any more difficult to smuggle in large amounts of weapons!
We saw what 19 of them can do. Imagine millions who are well armed. We only ever had, at most, a half a million US troops in Iraq. A million of them here while most of our military is over there…not a good scenario.

If you took out EVERY single immigrant in the U.S.—No human being would be left inside. Go look at your family tree or something the only predicament I can point out gracefully is to ignorant people like yourself…oh and next time you pick up an orange or any other produce just think that without all the under minimum wage- your produce would be quadrupuling in price (without taking into account any possibilities of inflation problems in the future) :) Enjoy your day!
Whether there’s an immigration problem or not, the only people complaining are the low-skilled workers uneducated Americans that failed to take advantage of the opportunities available here. The only reason politicians care is because they get votes from people who are against immigration.
