Here is an email we received from a local Charlotte area reader who had ben planing on voting Democrat.

We asked Cam Davis of Charlotte, NC to further explain why Ron Paul’s appeal was enough to get him to consider voting Republican.

It sounds as if Cam is a smart voter who doesnt look at letters by the names, but moreso at the integrity in their actions.

The more I look the more I have seen Ron Paul converts voters with the very first meeting almost everytime. I recommend our readers to visit www.ronpaul2008.com and judge for yourself if the appeal and integrity so many see in Ron Paul is enough to make an impact in the election.

“I was leaning towards voting for Obama, because I am so desperate for change. Then I saw Ron Paul in the Republican debates, and I was deeply inspired, more so than I ever have been by any other politician.

Dr. Paul is sincere, and that doesn’t appear to be the case for hardly anyone else on either side of this campaign.
He’s eloquent, has an easy to remember name, and a good smile. He doesn’t look intimidating or weak.

Ron Paul’s willingness and ability to stand alone on his principles is admirable. This was the quality in George W. Bush I voted for, that inner strength, and I see it in Dr. Paul as well.

He must have known he would get hammered for his non-interventionist policy in this campaign, and he has forged ahead anyway. I also love the fact he did an interview in a dorm room! Talk about unpretentious!

He believes in keeping trade as free as possible, with minimal government intervention.
He wants peace and trade with other nations, not war.

He served in the military, and had the discipline and aptitude to become a doctor.

He has been married for a long time. These things shows stability and an ability to commit.

He has practiced what he preached, not accepting Medicare payments as a physician, and not getting federal loans for his children when they were in college.

When things heated up with Sean Hannity on Fox the other night, Paul didn’t back down or apologize, but the next moment, he was calm and smiling. To me, that showed both passion and self control. He seems intellectually honest and isn’t constantly throwing out hollow catch phrases. I wish I could praise some of the other contenders at this length.

Ron Paul seems to be the only Republican candidate who has conquered fear and has a constituency not made up of corporations. I am very concerned at the continuing trend of corporations not only giving candidates huge sums of money to gain influence, but also claiming individual rights and personal liberties for the corporation! What’s next, are they going to ask that corporations be given electoral votes also?

My hope is if Dr. Paul can get to the oval office, corporations will take a backseat to actual persons, which I think was the intent of the Founding Fathers. After all, we still celebrate how they spoke out and acted against the East India Tea Company in 1773.”
