TVes Venezuela Propaganda
According to poller Datanálisis, in April 2007, only 13% of Venezuelans agree to deny the license to RCTV, while 70% reject the government’s decision. - wikipedia
“Venezuela’s oldest private television station went off the air just before midnight Sunday as thousands banged on pots and pans in protest against President Hugo Chavez’s decision not to renew the license of the opposition-aligned channel.”
“This TV network has become a threat to the country,” Chavez said this weekend in a televised speech from Venezuela’s Lara state, which interrupted live coverage of pro-RCTV marches for more than three hours. I base my decision on the specific behavior of this private station, its attitude and constant stepping on public morals.”
The moment the signal went off the air tonight, it was replaced by TVes the new government run propaganda channel.
After 60 years as the longest and first television station ever in the nation of Venezuela, it was thown off the air and replaced with a station that opened with the message of the government.
The first 1 minute of the new communist station, had a commercial for the government, which consisted of people in red communist tshirts raking up leaves and building houses, even though there is a massive housing shortage for the poor that has never been addressed during Chavez’s 8 years in office with the highest revenue in his nations history.
The next images on the NEW STATION, were images slandering the past owner of the channel RCTV, which has been on the air for nearly 60 years.
The images circled his face and said he was dirty, corrupt and trying to destroy the government.
It then said, no more to this corruption and showed more images of happy, red t-shirt wearing government robots raking leaves and smiling for the camera.
Don’t blink this is the same Anti American hate that is broadcast in Cuba, North Korea and the middle east to create generations based on hate. You will notice that all of the contries named have ruined corrupt economies and thusly need a scapegoat for their own failures.
The associated press reported this garbage below
Fireworks exploded across Caracas as crowds of Chavez’s supporters celebrated the expiration of Radio Caracas Television’s license and the birth of a new public service station.
BUT, I was on MSN messenger chat with family in Caracas, that said the sound of banging pans was defening, and she had heard fireworks but didnt see or know where they were at.
The banging pans is the historic sound of protest by opposition and others against this closure and the government dictatorship.
Later videos from the strets showed the Military (not police), at about 40-50 on every major corner standing across from families and young adults waving flags and banging pans. In every corner shown the military and police outnumbered the protesters about 50-30 in total people.
(hard to believe but the idiot said this on camera at Globovision)
One police captain denied they had used any tear gas, though it is seen and SEN FLYING IN CANISTER FORM clearly in coutnless videos. He said the smoke is from inside the buildings shot by protestors.
“Chavez says he is democratizing the airwaves by turning a “coup-mongering” network’s signal over for public use. His opponents condemned the shutdown of RCTV as an assault on free speech and a blow to democracy.”
The irony is that he already controls 75% of the airwaves, now 95%, and his “supporters” are between 50 and 60%…he then claims he is giving the airwaves to his people.
Police broke up one opposition protest using a water cannon and tear gas, and later clashed with protesters who set afire trash heaps in affluent eastern Caracas. Police said some protesters fired shots, and others threw rocks and bottles. Police said 11 officers were injured.
This seems an honest source, since the police wear red clad military uniforms and report to the president indirectly.
These same police were on Globovision later showing the “evidence” whch consisted of one of the officers holding ups an armful of rocks and a stick (a 1 ft tree banch with a leaf on it still) that he says was thrown at the police apparently causing 11 injuries to the 100+ officers in body armor with the riot hose blasting the crowd.
This is the propaganda each and every servant of the government cant wait to put on the ariwaves in the new and communist venezuela.
You look at the crowd below and pit them against the
While fireworks crackled, thousands of red-clad government supporters gathered around giant screens set up in a Caracas plaza to watch the new channel’s first transmission. Some danced to the classic salsa tune “Todo tiene su final” _ “Everything Has Its End.”
And when this says government supporters what this really means is thugs and crowds of the poor that have received handouts. The red clad shirts can often be spotted in every one of Chavez’s rallies, and generally look or are brand new since they are handed out when the people arrive or get bused in.
Briceida Rivas, 28, said the new public service channel is cause for celebration, calling RCTV’s programs “bad for children.”
Which is exactly what Chavez told everyone RVTV was on the other channels that broadcasted his message stating that anyone who supported the station the night of the closure should be viewed as a vigilante (targetted).
You would think the world would have learned the first time when Castro destroyed 40 years of a nation and its people.
Here is a real image from Venezuela today Sunday May 27th, this is the “rebel violent opposition Chavez speaks of, the same ones apparently injury his police”. THis is a rally against this desturction of free speech in Venezuela. This is what the mobs that oppose chavez look like.

ADDED LATER
Here is a link to a post by Daniel IN Venezuela, he is one of the best bloggers in all of SOuth America and gives us a great example of how Hugo Chavez uses his government owned TV stations to create the illusion that he is popular.
Here is the sampple of the government manipulation of the people in Venezuela. This is why he closes TV stations that show true images, he neds to create the national lie.

What sentiment about the war best describes your views?

“communist venzuela”? this is nothing but Us propaganda against everyone who refuses to say uncle. Can you prove the government of venezuela violated either its domestic or international law by shutting down this right wing neo-conservative propaganda machinery? What law?
Barba, nice try but unfortunately I have more than a few people on the street there im in contact with regularily.
Shutting down US propaganda?
The station has ben on the Air since before Chavez was born, but suddenyl its an anti chavez station?
70% of the country which means half of his supporters also think it was the wrong thing to do.
And as far as the law….The supreme court (owned by chavez) ruled that the station had to give all the camera and equiptment to the government to use….
Yeah that sounds like the letter of the law.
Soon nobody will be able to prove anything, that is the goal of closing all of the tv and radio stations, if you r revolution does nothing wrong why try so hard to hide all the images of it?
Ive been following the growth of this disease called chavez for about 6 years now very closely, so seems pretty likely you could learn something by reading on the truth of the communist revolution.
Im not sure how “law” has anyting to do with anyting in Venezuela anymore, since every member of every level of the government is a yesman at this point.
He said cause they were involved with the coup in 2002 so hes not going to renew the license, and also he gets to take all their stuff to use…..
What an amazingly convenient ruling since the military wasnt prepared to begin broadcasting without this equipment the night of the changeover.
What a joke.
And anyone who saw the first hour of TVES broadcasting after the closure can see who is planning to utilize communist porpaganda.
Since Im sure YOU DIDNT SE IT like I did, ill describe it.
It was a video claiming the owner of RCTV was dirty and deceiptful, showing him on the screen…it then cut to a commercial of people dressed in red revolution uniforms cleaning and raking.
Sounds like real “democratic broadcasting coming on TVes”
Barba, so you watched the video on the other post?
http://www.charlotteconservative.com/index.php/2007/05/chavistas-killing-civilians/
Is that right wing propaganda or is that Chavez supporters firing at protesters with the blessing of the police?
I suppose that doesnt violate any laws either in Communist Venezuela.
“But press freedom groups note that the station has not been officially sanctioned, nor have its owners or managers been charged with conspiracy against the state. Other private stations that were harshly anti-Chávez but have toned down critical coverage avoided the same fate, as communications Minister William Lara readily acknowledged in an interview broadcast Friday on CNN’s Spanish-language service.
Polls show that 65 to 80 percent of Venezuelan respondents disagreed with the government’s decision to end RCTV’s concession”
No license, but oddly no FORMAL CHARGES, and no proof from the dictator either?
