A reader brings us a complete an blunt overview of what one honest, legal American voter thinks of the crop of candidates on the stage tonight at the GOP debate.

I thought CNN would improve on the others, but it did the worst job yet.

Wolf Blitzer just catered to the so-called “top tier” candidates, letting them all the time they wanted or needed and then restricting others.

It was a joke.

I’ve seen enough of RMcR (Rudy, McCain, Romney) and I want to see what the others have to say!

I watched the Democratic debate tonight and I noticed that there was no interrupting of them, they did not interrupt other candidates and were generally more graceful.

Ron Paul is the most graceful and intelligent of the Republicans, that’s quite obvious.

I liked what Ron Paul said, when he got the chance to say it. He made excellent points about America’s foreign policy with oil, how we subsidize oil companies, and I simply loved his wonderful answer on the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.

( I agree, Ron’s Gay Right answer was the highlight of the debate)

The others could only try to copy it.

He made an excellent point on the Christian “just wars” – Huckabee and Brownback and the others try to say they love and respect life, but they’re willing to throw away American lives in Iraq in a losing effort to “win” an unwinnable, ill-conceived war.

Tancredo made an excellent point on immigration; what no one mentioned was this McCain amnesty bill will basically just allow the richest illegal immigrants to get citizenship – it will cost thousands of dollars and require the head of the household to go back to Mexico, so most illegal immigrants won’t sign up and we’ll have the same status quo.

I absolutely LOVED Tancredo’s answer on the Bush question– what a horrible statement Rove had made to him and what a way to get back, in the debates.

I’m glad he came out against that horrible man (unfortunately our president), whom the others have just pandered to.

Tommy Thompson did a great job on the health care question, he bores me most of the time but he stood out a bit more tonight.

Duncan Hunter also did well in some areas.

Huckabee is being praised by others for his comment on evolution, but he basically said, “You can’t believe in God if you believe in evolution” and that’s just not going to fly because I can attest that you can certainly believe in both.

Brownback had a more graceful answer, but it’s discounted because he doesn’t believe in evolution, either, which shows he doesn’t have the most basic understanding of science. Evolution could simply be God’s method.

The others just SUCKED, McCain wasn’t as bad as the others in the RMcR trio, but they’re all amateurs compared to the intelligent, well-reasoned answers provided by Dr. Ron Paul.

Well Said Louise, what a great comment to our previous post.

They are Censoring Ron PAul!!! avoided asking him questions on the debate in fair share and then pulled his victory online via “the who won blog” and the online voting section.

On top of it, Ron one at 53% with over 1700 votes

with rudy and Mckain trailing with 400 votes and at 13%

post show they said rudy won the online poll and ron paul only had 2% votes.

Spread the word…. Ron Paul is worth censoring by the biggest news company in our country and around the world? why?

go checkout his youtube videos or his website.

    why else?

I think you summed up the debate very well!

I’d like to add more of what I see underneath the surface…

The frenzy of war and terror is clearly nothing more than the power elite’s end-run attempts to slam-dunk our constitutional republic and turn it into an empire run by some kind of dictator handed the “emergency powers” on a silver platter.

Frankly, my assessment of world history tells me that citizens of any nation are not our enemy. This includes Afgani, Iraqui, Russian, Chinese, etc. What we have is a small number of power brokers playing all sides against one another to stir up chaos so that in the end they push every nation into a system of centralized power to all the more easily assimilate the world’s citizens into a globalist totalitarian hell on earth.

There are a lot of people waking up to the idea that a very weak centralized government and very strong local governments all participating in a very free-market economy with no subsidies and so fourth creates a form of government that the people have more individual rights and liberties (thus prosperity), no nation is threatened by us in terms of being coersed or invaded (thus the highest possible real national security), and people are responsible for their own actions.

What we have now in this country is a lot of problems, threats, divisions, etc. being fomented among and against us to weaken, divide and conquer us. There are a lot of threats and problems being laid at our doorsteps to trick us into sacrificing our freedoms for the sake of them. We must have eyes to see past the surface. There is only ONE candidate true to real freedom on the stage.

Rudy comes across on the surface looking like a really “tough guy” but in reality the policy he promotes is more akin to the policy of a bully. I think anyone who really understands the psychology of a bully knows they are basically just cowards looking to compensate for their own weakness with a pretense of the opposite. These people are known to be easily manipulated and all to often make drastic mistakes they sorely regret. There is only safety in holding true to correct principles and Rudy offers little hope of that. Especially when you see him groping for applause points and grandstanding.

I measure a man’s strength based on how much he is willing to stand up for the principles of freedom no matter how scary things may appear and for certain there is absolutely no competition for Ron Paul in this category.

Why do we speak so highly of the great courage and dedication to the principles of freedom that our founding fathers had and at the same time label the only man walking in their footsteps as “fringe”? If this is true, our freedoms will be done for in not too many years!

Islamists are not the terrorists! They are just a convenient mass of people easily radicalized and used as a tool. That’s what we did with them against the Russians. For crying out loud, we trained Osama Been Lunchin to fight against them. So, should it come as any surprise they are just being used as tools now?

Just recently we have Putin making some very bold and chilling remarks about what he perceives as a threat due to our offensive and pre-emptive posturing. I’m here to tell you, we will be playing into the hands of those who want another massive world war if we go down this road of aggressivism.

I’m a 36 year old married man with 6 children and I work in the state capitol of Arizona. I’m not some weird kook. I care about the future of my 6 children and look for those candidates who honor the principles that best assure freedom in the future. Some may call us the fringe cowards but history will vindicate us because history vindicates the principles.

For the sake of the Union, Ron Paul for President!

“Huckabee is being praised by others for his comment on evolution, but he basically said, ‘You can’t believe in God if you believe in evolution’ and that’s just not going to fly because I can attest that you can certainly believe in both.”

Agree. Huckabee’s response appeals to the narrow-minded extremist base that primary candidates must court to win the party nomination.

Some people who aren’t gooberelgious will find the response highly insulting. Fundamentalists are always positing false dichotomies, attacking strawmen, revealing a profound ignorance on complex subjects and a disrespect for thoughtful, educated, reflective people who aren’t smugly satisfied with easy answers. There is nothing less appealing to me than arrogant ignorance.

I can’t believe a true christian would be practically thrilled at the chance to drop nuclear bombs on a nation of people. This is sick! Ron Paul is the only candidate who is trying to make the world a safer place, the rest of the candidates havea myopic view of how the world works and think that “leadership” means running aroudn the world machine gunning countries that are less than ideal democracies.

Free trade and economic progress is the way to a more peaceful world, not strong armed tactics and a exploding military budegt fudned by us tax payers.

With 3/4 of the USA opposing the Iraq occupation, whose votes are Republican candidates vying for? We only have one candidate in step with mainstream America on the war issue: Ron Paul. We only have one candidate who can seriously challenge Hillary Clinton: Ron Paul. Are we throwing this election? What is going on? If we ignore the American people, and the only rational voice in our party, we deserve to die as a major political influence in this country.
