It seems that from beyond the grave or at least beyond our randomly generated javascripts, Abraham Lincoln seems to be watching what is unfolding in our country this week.

This quote came up today on our sidebar quotes we entered months ago, it seemed oh so fitting and on target.

I am amazed how day after day I am reminded of the greatness of some of our past leaders.

I imagine the pool of talent was much stronger back at a time that pure merit and accomplishment determined the office of president.

Has money and “paid for” candidate watered down the IQ of the politicians?”

Ron Paul would agree with the constitutional merit of the words of President Lincoln.

“Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable - a most sacred right - a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world.”

Abraham Lincoln

To all of you Senators and President Bush,….we are looking at you on this one.

Continue to represent yourselves and those that donate to further your career and find out what by the people and for the people really means.

Alot of voters are now looking forward to getting out to the polls in 2008, and they have all made a list and checked it twice.

Won’t be good for those who didnt represent their past supporters.

too bad ol’ honest abe didn’t feel that way when the south wanted to peacefully leave the union. you may need to use a better example next time. as robert e lee said, ” a true union shouldn’t have to be held together by the point of a bayonet”.

I think the quote fits todays issues, I made no comment on how it applied to his own time.

Your post sounds like Ron Paul :) so we know your constitutionaly correct.

I’d agree with Warren and Gen. Lee and that is coming from a direct descendant of Lincoln’s Secretary of War. The States should be sovereign, and forming the union for the purposes outlined in The Constitution.

And that is why I’ll vote for Ron Paul in the Primary on Super Tuesday Feb 5 in GA.

Again, I don’t know if Lincoln was the best choice for this ideal, but at least it is noce to read something that shows he had some respect for people over government.

Of course, the ONLY candidate for President who will totally restore our Constitutional Republic is Dr. Ron Paul.

I doubt ill get a chance to vote for Ron Paul either, if hes in as a third party candidate I would need to monitor the polls and make sure im not causing Hillary to win by splitting my vote off for Ron Paul as a third party candidate.

If hes the republican he gets my vote, but likely he wont be, and ONCE AGAIN well be forced to vote for the “lesser evil” and elect Rudy or Mitt as the better choice over any Dem running.

I will say though, that of all the scenerios that could play out I would still vote for Obama over McCain.

At least he didnt lie about what his values are like McCain the sellout idiot in the suits that are 3 sizes too small on him.
