Charlotte Ron Paul Meetup
Well, the Charlotte Ron Paul meetup is organizing for the first big event on Ron Paul’s behalf. The fourth of July will mark a day in Charlotte to work overtime in getting the awareness of this great American representative that is working for the presidency in 2008.
The Charlotte Ron Paul Meetup chapter will be out all night on the fourth of July to put the word of Ron Paul on every post and every public place.
Ron Paul is by far the most accomplished online candidate in the election so far. Ron Paul’s has changed the way that online campaigning is done with an amazing online presence.
At some point the presence has to crawl off the screen and start into the streets. The day for this in Charlotte is the 3rd of July heading into the fourth.
If you are able to help out with financial or personal time contributions on the evening of the 3rd of July, then post here your support and your location within Charlotte, NC.
You can see and join the Charlotte Chapter of the Ron Paul meetup group here:

I will definitely be doing this in my home town!
Ron Paul in 08
Lets not forget that the people we need to get on board will more likely be put off by a bunch of crap-looking handouts. Remember this isn’t junior high. Dr. Paul can’t win unless he gets the republican nomination, and the republican candidate will ultimately be chosen by old-fashioned gullible elderly people who will not be impressed by juvenile antics and will probably think signs with “revolution” written with love highlighted in red backwards are the work of the devil. By all means get the word out, but don’t forget who your audience is. Old-fashioned votes require old-fashioned campaigns. Stick to conservative, professional-looking signs to get his name out there. Filling a city with bits of construction paper with “Ron Paul is for peace, man” written on them will only make him look like a joke and guarantee he will not be taken seriously by the voters that actually vote.
Steve,
Your point is well taken. However, I think there is a place for this type of thing IF if can be done with professional looking signs posted legally. After all, the goal at this point in time is to gain name recognition.
I agree that supporters shouldn’t just throw up a bunch of hand written shoddy looking signs.
Exactly. We want these signs to last, hopefully not be taken down by GovCo. There are political sign restrictions on where they can be posted.
Thanks, Mike, for posting this thread.
Just a note ahead of time.
Take pictures or videos of yourself hangin them, well be sure to make some coverage of the movement to get the word out and need some cool pictures of supporters doing their thing.
As important as name recognition is. I think it is more important to get Ron Paul’s message out there. Ron Paul is very different from the other traditional candidates. He should and he can win based on his message.
Hi!
Were you at our first meetup a couple of weeks ago where we discussed tactics and started laying down some plans for the future? We had a small group (about 26), but the energy in the room was trememndous to say the least. There were some great ideas presented, but a few concerns with potential approaches were raised as well.
I have to say that I am a little concerned that we may let our enthusiasm get the best of us and not do the requisite research on the legality of any potential actions we take. The last thing we want to do is present Dr. Paul in a bad light, so we really need to keep this in mind with everything we do in his name. There is a fine line between persistence and annoyance as well. Let’s make sure that we get the word out without becoming a nuisance.
I fully believe that being involved in this campaign is one of the most important things that we can do to help our country at this time. I also believe that taking a professional, organized approach to spreading the word on the campaign will get the best results.
I really hope that as a group we can achive results in the Charlotte area that most people don’t think is possible. Let’s just be mindful of our tactics so we don’t wind up doing more harm than good.
I was a ‘maybe’ that couldnt make it.
Hey Michael I see you live in the University area like me. Why not thoes of us who do and know of some in the Concord area met up at Ryans at Concord Mills sometime. I want to help get Dr No where he truly belongs and hopfully we can fix it so he comes to Charlotte to campain some too. I would love to meet such a great man in person.
Vote Yes for Dr No in 2008.
Sounds great, I wrote his site and showed him the 35,000 hits per month we were getting related to searches about Dr Paul.
Hoped this would be enough, but alas he is a busy man. Anyone get photos fo the JULY 4rth sign posting? or videos.
SEND THEM TO ME and ill get them online.
