I dont recall a better feeling of justice from anything in the legal arena for a long time. This has been the first surfacing of common sense in US law in years.

I am happy to see this race card playing devil lose the one thing he apparently thought made him better than everyone else. I hope to see him standing next to Lindsey Graham shaking out a basket of fries next time I stop in for a quarter pounder meal.

I do hope the door hits him in the ass.

A Durham County Superior Court judge has decided to suspend District Attorney Mike Nifong from office.

Nifong had announced he would resign after July 13, but Judge Orlando Hudson said that’s not soon enough, and he’ll suspend him Tuesday.

As a part of the suspension, Hudson said he’ll order the Durham County sheriff to prevent Nifong from carrying out any duties of district attorney.

Gov. Mike Easley also said Monday that Nifong should leave office sooner, rather than waiting a month.

Nifong, who oversaw indictments against three Duke lacrosse players, was disbarred on Saturday for his handling of the case.

Mike Nifong is out of the career he abuse in attempt to wrongly convict innocent kids based on their race.

Nifong has NERVE staying on the job (or even attempting to) for another 30 days. I’m sure he’ll throw a tantrum or two, cursing a defense attorney or two, but with the suspension by Judge Orlando Hudson, that’s about all he’ll be able to do. What galls me most is that he can walk away with his retirement benefits as if he had retired normally. Granted, he won’t get the more lucrative package that judges and prosecutors (who have served 5 years as DA) get, but still it’s galling. He needs to be flipping burgers at McDonald’s.

There are some others who need dealing with too: The Duke “Gang of 88″ faculty/staffers need tarring and feathering and running out of town on a rail. (Take notice wealthy endowing members of the Duke Alumni Assoc.)

No D.A. in a prosecutorial district as large and BUSY as Durham County is does ALL of the leg and grunt work in preparing even the show trial cases of personal political interest. There must be Assistant D.A.s and D.A. office staffers who aided (while being fully aware of the travesty of justice being commited) Nifong in preparing his “case” against the Duke 3. In my view, it was their minimum affirmative duty to have sent letters (even anonymously) expressing their trepidations about this “case” to the Chief Justice of the NC Supreme Court, the Attorney General, and the Governor.
