In most of the eighteen recall states, specific grounds are not required, and the recall of a state official is by an election.

Proponents of the recall maintain that it provides a way for citizens to retain control over elected officials who are not representing the best interests of their constituents, or who are unresponsive or incompetent. This view holds that an elected representative is an agent, a servant and not a master.

Signature requirements are based on a formula, generally a percentage of the vote in the last election for the office in question, although some states base the formula on the number of eligible voters or other variants.

Whatever the formula, the signature requirements are high: 25 percent in nine states; 25 percent for statewide offices and 35 percent for legislators in Washington; one-third in Louisiana; and 40 percent in Kansas. California’s requirements are 12 percent for statewide offices; 20 percent for legislators and appellate judges. Georgia requires 15 percent for statewide offices; 30 percent for all others. Idaho’s requirement is 20 percent for all offices. Montana has the lowest number of required signatures - 10 percent for statewide officials and 15 percent for state district offices such as legislative districts.

Here are the states that allow recall votes.

I pointed out a few states with particularily easy possibilities to remove the senator.

I am hopeful the local opposition to illegal immigration will start the cause and let the sellouts in Washington know what can happen when they ignore their voters.

If less than half of those who voted against each of these candidates go out and sign a petition you can easily remove these sellouts and scare the rest of the traitors in Washington into listening to the people.

And if your state doesnt have a recall option, like South Carolina, but does have a sellout senator that cares nothing of the feelings of the people of their state….then you can settle the score in the next election by getting out en mass and voting them out of their cushy jobs and lack of loyalty.

We will make an example of Lindsey Graham in 2008.

I am so glad to see there is a movement to defeat Lindsey Graham.

I believe he has got to be the nation’s #1 target of a sellout Senator.

I am hoping we can defeat at least 4 or 5 of the sellouts, but the most important thing is choosing the worst traitor and making an example of him. And I think almost everyone would agree that the worst of the worst is Lindsey Graham.

My wife and myself have signed recall petitions for the removal of Florida’s Senator Mel Martinez by using www.recallmel.com .
So what site is available to sign off on the recalling Senator Nelson?

Alas, I live in one of the states without the ability to recall a state senator, Nevada. Harry Reid is just as big a cowboy as Bush who both seem to think they are King of the United States and not a public official entrusted with serving the people and their concerns, wishes and demands. We pay your checks you buffoons! I can only hope in this election the american public will vote with intelligence gathered through their representatives voting records (this can be requested from your representatives local office - numbers in the phone book so you don’t even NEED a computer), research from the internet (not the spin doctors who have seemed to have the ability to brainwash the american public)and any other reliable source they may have access to. Let’s stop the apathy, the placing an incumbent back in office because you don’t know the other guys name, the voting for HER because I’m a woman, the not voting for him because he’s African-American, etc. Use your heads people, know WHAT you want in a candidate and then use your heart to put into office the person you truly believe is the best for the position. Otherwise, you’ll be stuck with the Harry Reids, the “Dubs”, the Pelosi’s, the Cheney’s, the Thurmonds……need I say more?

    God Bless America
