U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Littleton) criticized Attorney General Alberto Gonzales in a letter to the Justice Department in the wake of media reports yesterday that the U.S. Marshals raided the Hawaii home of Duane “Dog” Chapman at the direction of the Mexican government.
A spokeswoman for the Marshals Office confirmed yesterday that an arrest warrant was signed Wednesday by a federal magistrate in Hawaii at the urging of the administration. Chapman could now be extradited to to face criminal charges for successfully capturing Max Factor heir Andrew Luster in Puerto Vallarta in 2003. Luster, who was wanted in the for rape is now serving a 124-year sentence.
“This Administration routinely tells Congress that they cannot secure our borders and immigration system due to a lack of resources. We are told that the U.S. Attorneys offices in Border States are simply overwhelmed with cases and cannot prosecute all the violations – even serious ones,” said Tancredo.
“Somehow this administration has plenty of time to track down a Mexican drug smuggler and give him immunity so he can testify against our Border Patrol agents,” said Tancredo referring to the prosecution of two Border Patrol agents facing 20 years in prison for wounding a Mexican smuggler during the course of their normal duties earlier this year.
“Americans are apparently supposed to happily accept presence the roughly 100,000 criminal aliens inside our borders – a number that is growing every year – while the Marshals use their resources to track down ‘Dog’ Chapman on orders from a foreign master for successfully brining a convicted rapist to justice.”
“It is becoming increasingly clear that the real problem with this administrations inability to address the failures of U.S. border security policy is not so much a lack of resources as it is one of misplaced priorities,” concluded Tancredo, “I’m beginning to wonder who is in charge of prioritizing assignments at DOJ. Is it this administration – or the one in Mexico City ?”

Tancredo is the most conservative Republican presidential cadidate and has the most consistent record. I mean come on, Rudy supports killing babies, McCain want to give illegals amnesty and Mitt Romney is a well known flip flopper. Fred Thompson — I don’t know much about and he just don’t seem to be interested in the job — so for me the choice is very clear.

Thank you Congressman Tancredo for keeping this vital issue in the limelight. I am abolutely appalled that this administration, who I voted for twice, would waste so much of the taxpayers money and resources harrassing Mr. Chapman, who I consider to be an American hero for doing what he did. Also, I would like to give a big public “THANK YOU, DOG!” from a 20 year corrections officer. Stay strong, brother.

Tancredo vision is so clean and consistent he should be gifted American Presidency. No true American like illegal aliens amnesty crowd. They took our jobs, destroyed our invornment and brought diseases to this country.

I say bring back “Operation Wetback”.
Truth is operation wetback worked. Estimated 1.3 million illegal aliens were deported in less than a year and many more left by themselves. Also if you see for next decade or so after the operation wetback the illegal alien crossing were almost negligible.
I don’t give a rat’s ass what you call the operation but it is important for us to send a message to all illegal aliens from anywhere in the world, to let them know that America is inforcing its immigration laws.We did it the past and we will do it again. We just can’t have another 20 million illegal aliens again in this country demanding amnesty. This is against the rule of law.

Also, all those dubious statistics you are giving about Tancredo..well the fact is most conservatives oppose amnesty and every polls shows that most American people support that idea. I don’t know if Tancredo be elected president but I am pretty certain that Fred Thompson will be and he made it clear that oppose liberal democrats agenda of giving amensty. Democrats were loosers with American people on gay marriage in 2004 and they will once again be defeated on illegal alien amnesty.

THE only reason we are having problems with illegal immigration may have something to do with out Attorney General. I think America as a whole has forgotten that our Attorney General is….gasp….HISPANIC. No wonder the border situation has gotten worse.

A long time ago, whenever America said no, then by God, we meant NO!!! Look at health care. There’s a joke for you!!Hospitals and drug companies getting super-rich off of decent, hardworking Americans. It really burns me up that I have to pay a doctor most of my weekly pay for a five minute visit, but an illegal can see the same doctor, for the same amount of time, or longer, and walks out without paying a dime. Where is the sense in that. If the medical industry makes so much money that twelve million people can see a doctor for free, then why can’t REAL Americans get the same deal? I will tell you why…..SPECIAL INTERESTS, and VOTES.

Jeez, we may be fat and stupid, or so our government chooses to think, but even the slowest of us should be able to see that we have left the realm of democracy, and are slowly entering the realm of communism in our government. HOW MUCH MORE CONTROL MUST WE LET THE GOVERNMENT HAVE BEFORE WE ALL FINALLY DECIDE THAT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH??????
