Here is an answer to a question many of you unaffiliated voters who want to support a candidate in the Republican primary here in North Carolina (and beyond). Also Libertarian Party is off the ballot so those voters become unaffiliated as well and can affect the primary for Republican candidates.

Perhaps someone in the GOP party can verify this fact brought to us from the response to an email question to the perty.

Can unaffiliated voters can vote in the Republican primary?

I e-mailed the State Board of Elections to find out if unaffiliated
voters can vote in Democratic & Republican primaries. I thought this
was the case but wanted to make sure. According to their response,
you can. Their response & my initial e-mail are below. This is good
news for Libertarian Party members since the LP lost it’s ballot
status & they are now listed as unaffiliated. They will easily be
able to vote for Ron Paul in the GOP primary.

Yes. You may vote one or the other and should a second primary be
necessary you would have to vote the same party as the first primary.

An Email response and answer provided by Chris at the Republican Liberty Caucus of North Carolina. You can visit them at http://www.rlc.org/States/nc/.
