Calderon The Hypocrite

Keep in mind this is from the Houston Chronicle about how the president of Mexico speaks down about US laws and policies while in his country illegal immigrants are robbed and deported rampantly.

Alo keep in mind the Mexican Constitution says illegal immigration is a felony and jailable offense and non-citizens (even legal ones) are forbidden to demonstrate or even discuss the countries politics.

Now we get the president, that the US supported in the last Mexican election, turning around and passing judgement on our “flawed system” that is still far superior to anything in Mexican government.

“Mexico counts on sending almost a million illegal aliens into the United States each year to ensure billions of dollars in remittance from expatriates, a sympathetic Hispanic lobbying presence in the United States, and easy exits for potential dissidents unhappy with Mexico City’s failure to provide basic services for its own indigenous people.

To facilitate such massive illegal immigration, Mexican officials lecture their American counterparts about our supposed illiberality in not letting millions more stream in unchecked.

They have even gone so far as to publish a government comic book instructing their own citizens how to cross the American border safely–and in flagrant violation of our laws.

But Mexico has nearly the same problem with its own 600-mile southern border with Guatemala as we do with our own 1,800-mile common boundary with Mexico. Hundreds of thousands of Central and Southern Americans try to cross into Mexico, either to work as cheap laborers or to make their way eventually into the United States as competitors to illegal aliens from Mexico.

(this is why they really hate it, someone stealing what they rightfully stole from us)

In response, Mexico’s policy toward illegal immigrants on its southern border is as brutal as America’s is humane.

Violators are often summarily deported–if they are not first robbed by Mexican officials or beaten and killed by criminal gangs.

Mexicans may lecture Americans about our purported sins in trying to secure our border, but they don’t seem to care what their own government does to Guatemalans. Again, the irony arises that a government that has abandoned the rule of international law suddenly is worried that another country may be doing to it what it does to others.”

This looks like the kind of lawlessness we can look forward to as the United States is made into a 3rd world country by liberal handouts.

Someone remind me again how 1,000,000 yearly uneducated border crossers are going to make my life better as an American? As long as Lindsey Graham, Mel Martinez and Ted Kennedy have an endless supply of landscapers nobody will raise a finger to protect our country.

I point out the hyprocrisy of Mexico all the time. I say, “Fine, if Mexico thinks our immigration laws are unjust, let’s adopt their policies.” Hardly anyone knows how nativist their policies are.

Actually the United States supported Madrazo until the run off election against Lopez Obrador. There is some basis for hope that the majority of Mexican illegals can be repatriated there by the end of Calderon’s administration.

I agree with the support, but in the end it was to be chavez-wannabe Obrador or Calderon which was a pro american voice to a certain degree. I watched that count all night in Rueters updates and am grateful these 1 million per year are not coming out of a socialist run nation, happy Obrador was sent packing.

I wonder if an “enemy” president would have gotten our government to finally do something about the free-for-all borders.
