For our readers we have found that Washington Post is reporting optimistically about the seizure suffered by chief justice Roberts today. We are happy to say Justice Roberts appears to be in good health, our thoughts and wishes for good health go out to him.

“Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. suffered a seizure and fell near his summer home in Maine today and was taken to an area hospital, where he will remain overnight , a Supreme Court spokeswoman said.

Roberts, 52, has “fully recovered” from the 2 p.m. incident except for “minor scrapes” sustained in the fall on a dock near his home in Port Clyde, Maine, said court spokeswoman Kathleen Landin Arberg.

Arberg said Roberts suffered “a benign, idiopathic seizure,” medical terminology for an attack whose origin is unknown. She said Roberts suffered a similar episode in 1993.

Seizures are any “sudden, abnormal electrical activity” in the brain, according to background information posted online by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, part of the National Institutes of Health.

Arberg said Roberts was conscious and taken to Penobscot Bay Medical Center by ambulance. He underwent “a thorough neurological evaluation, which revealed no cause for concern,” she said in a statement released by the court.

Roberts took office as chief justice in September 2005 after being nominated by President Bush to replace William H. Rehnquist, who died of cancer on Sept. 3, 2005, at the age of 80. Roberts has no known history of serious illness.”

52 minus 14 (2007 minus 1983) EQUALS an age of 38 which is when this guy was a confirmed water head?? after only 13 years (at the most) of active practice of law?? And he’s participating (ie has one out of nine votes) on decisions that potentially can screw up everything for a long time here?? I’d just as soon have open heart surgery performed by a drunk.
