A Ronald Reagan Moment

“Reagan, Reagan, Reagan…” is the war cry for a Republican Party trying to get back to its common sense and “freedom above all else” roots.

In response to the socialism bordering on communist ideals the Democratic left seems intent on pushing for the election in 2008, we are going to remind people of the truth in conservatism with a “Reagan moment”.

With Hillary pushing for government run hospitals and medicaid and free child care for illegal immigrants. Then further left we get Obama vowing to sit down and buddy up to Fidel Castro in his first year as president.

Never has democracy been so threatened by government wanting to protect you from yourself.

Here is a Ronald Reagan explaining to the left some of the basics of America’s guaranteed feedom.

“Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves. ”

“Democracy is worth dying for, because it’s the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man. ”

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.”

“Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them.”

“Government’s first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives.”

“Governments tend not to solve problems, only to rearrange them. ”

“How do you tell a communist? Well, it’s someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It’s someone who understands Marx and Lenin.”

“I’ve never been able to understand why a Republican contributor is a ‘fat cat’ and a Democratic contributor of the same amount of money is a ‘public-spirited philanthropist’. ”

“No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth! ”

“One way to make sure crime doesn’t pay would be to let the government run it. ”
