Elvira Arellano was arrested Sunday afternoon outside Our Lady Queen of Angels church in Los Angeles. She was deported several hours later, said the Rev. Walter Coleman, pastor of Adalberto United Methodist Church in Chicago, where Arellano had taken refuge.

Elvira Arellano was not an activist, Elvira Arellano was not a hero, Elvira Arellano was not a victim, Elvira Arellano was not Rosa Parks.

Elvira Arellano was a now twice deported criminal working under a fake social security number and fake ID being used as a martyr to drum up sympathy for those wanting amnesty.

Elvira Arellano is a mom that is exploiting her son.

She is playing the part as a separated family, when the truth is that she abandoned her son in Chicago. Posters going up saying “dont take my mommy away” to gain sympathy, but nobody did.

Arellano said in a statement to The AP. “If this government would separate me from my son, let them do it in front of the men and women who have the responsibility to fix this broken law and uphold the principles of human dignity.”

Again, the violins play this lie in the papers, but she has never been separated from her son. Her son is welcome to be reunited with his mommy anytime he wants in his mom’s country.

I have never known a family to base its home on the status of a child?

If my parents are residents of North Carolina, then that is were we live.

If Saul’s mommy is a resident and citizen of Mexico, which she says she is, then that is where Saul lives.

Not only is this common sense, but this is the fact because Saul’s mommy knowingly broke numerous laws on many occasions.

She had the choice to take her son with her, but chose to use him as an anchor and leave him in the United States as leverage for herself.

”She has been deported. She is free and in Tijuana,” said Coleman, who said he spoke to her on the phone. ”She is in good spirits. She is ready to continue the struggle against the separation of families from the other side of the border.”

Elvira Arellano was not separated from her son, she left him behind.

Last night I watched her on CNN espanol, Univision and any other place she could get on TV and stand in front of Mexico’s congress to exploit her son as a tool. I am a parent of two, and I would never for any reason leave my son behind to be a poster child for amnesty.

At no point did I hear her say, she knows what she did was illegal, what she did was wrong, and this distraction and stress on her family is a direct result of her own actions.

Elvira Arellano said the following, where she even acknowledges “her country” as Mexico.

”I only have two choices. I either go to my country, Mexico, or stay and keep fighting. I decided to stay and fight.”

Arellano came to Washington state illegally in 1997. She was deported to Mexico shortly after, but returned and moved to Illinois in 2000, taking a job cleaning planes at O’Hare International Airport.

She was arrested in 2002 at O’Hare and convicted of working under a false Social Security number. She was to surrender to authorities last August.

Working at an international airport with fake documents.

Now choosing to leave her son behind and putting her own “goals” ahead of keeping her family together.

This story rubs me wrong more than any other recent story. The mainstream media has really lost touch with who is the criminal.

This woman was never a victim ignoring laws for 10 years and dragging her son into the results of her crimes.

Is anyone paying attention to who is the actual criminal here?

Ms. Arellano didn’t seem to have any problem separating this chid from his father. Apparently he was “out of the picture” before this child was even born. Does he even know his child exists?? Does she know who the father of this child is??

Don’t we already have enough native-born poor and struggling working single mothers that rely on Uncle Sam to take paternity for their reproductive decisions?
