DREAM Act Is A Lie

Determined amnesty advocates who lost the fight for “comprehensive” immigration reform three months ago are now attempting to grant illegal aliens “amnesty on the installment plan.” Illegal aliens who entered the U.S. before age 16 and who have lived here illegally for five consecutive years will be the first to qualify under a bill the Senate is expected to vote on this week. Senator Dick Durbin (D., Ill.) will offer his Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act as an amendment to the defense-authorization bill. Later in the month, senators will attempt to extend amnesty to agricultural workers.
Under the DREAM Act, applicants for amnesty who claim to be enrolled in a community college, technical school, or university will receive immediate “conditional” legal status. Sound familiar?
The Migration Policy Institute estimates that about 1.3 million illegal aliens will be eligible for the amnesty. Because the act’s provisions are retroactive, additional illegal aliens will also qualify.
Along with illegal aliens who have graduated from high school or completed a G.E.D., any illegal alien, regardless of age, who initially came here illegally before age 16 and meets the education provisions qualifies for a green card and eventual citizenship. As green-card holders, they can all sponsor their illegal alien parents for green cards.
To accommodate DREAM Act aliens and their parents, numerical limits on green cards are lifted.
The DREAM Act also makes illegal aliens, present and future, eligible for discounted, in-state tuition rates by repealing the federal law that prohibits such a benefit for illegal aliens, unless it is also extended to citizens and lawful residents. Unlike legal foreign students, illegal aliens will also qualify for federal financial assistance.
The DREAM Act enjoys bipartisan support. It’s backed by Senators Clinton, Obama, and Kennedy and its Republican co-sponsors include Senators Hagel, Lugar, Crapo, and Craig. Senator McCain supports the bill even though last November over 70 percent of Arizona voters opposed a proposition that would have qualified illegal aliens for in-state tuition.
“Comprehensive” immigration reform included both beefed-up enforcement measures and amnesty for illegal aliens. The reform failed because public support for the former was overwhelmed by public opposition to the latter. “Comprehensive” reform may be dead, but amnesty is very much alive.
Lets review shall we:
People of any age that claim to have come here before age 16 with no proof required, will get instant conditional amnesty and can not be deported. Within 5 years they can bring their families to move in as well.
Clinton, Obama and John McCain all support this unlimited amnesty for illegals, even though 70% of John McCain’s state opposed a very similar bill (70% in Arizona, which is largely hispanic) If Clinton wins the white house millions of illegal immigrants will start receiving government benefits and be able to bring their families here as a reward for their crimes. None will be required to pay the back taxes or fees they evaded since coming here.
Illegal aliens will also get for federal financial assistance, and get the student loan money you children too will be trying to request.Even if they claim low income because they have been working under the table.
Illegal aliens get a green card and can then sponsor their family to come here legally to multiply the number that have benefited from this original illegal entry.
The amnesty would be instant for millions of criminals.
DONT LET THE GOVERNMENT LIE AND PRETEND THIS IS TO HELP A FEW POOR HIGH SCHOOL KIDS TO GOTO COLLEGE.
This is more amnesty with the goal of making the problem irreversible.
LEGAL immigrant student here on student visas are not elidgible for grants and government loans, but this act makes it ok for illegals. The DREAM act gives more benefits to illegals than it does to legal immigrant students.
The DREAM act spits in the face of REAL immigrants by rewarding criminals beyond that of a student visa.
Crime does pay if congress passes this amnesty.

What sentiment about the war best describes your views?

Some immigrants entered the USA legally, but still have no green card or even student visas. So why not give at least THOSE a chance?
Plus if you had any consideration or find it in your heart to be understanding, you would know that illegal immigrants don’t come here to rob the USA from its money or kill people. Just because they come here illegaly doesn’t automatically make them criminals.
They come here with a dream. A dream to be able to make money for their families back home, and live better because their country might be living in chaos, or disturbance. I know some people who are here illegaly and come here to struggle and live a life they didn’t expect, but still do it, with hard work and sweat to be able to feed their kids back at their homeland, with tears in their eyes for not being able to see them, and family members. They don’t go out there and sell drugs. My point is…someone isn’t labeled a criminal just by being here illegally, so you utilized the word “criminals” very ignorantly.
Let me remind you: Citizens of the USA kill people too, are criminals, use and sell drugs as well. IT ISN’T ONLY THOSE ILLEGAL INDIVIDUALS.
The people don’t realize who does most of their jobs for them. Who cleans houses? who babysits? who cooks for America? It is mostly illegal immigrants. Who are willing to do anything, and struggle to only get a couple of bucks. They do the jobs others would hate to replace. Apparently, without them we would be useless.
So have an open mind. Stop the ignorance.
“They come here with a dream.”
Yes Chory, they sure did come here with a dream. While it costs us over $340 Billion a year in direct support of them they protested twice in all of our major cities with the intent to damage our economy. They protested in a sea of Mexican flags and flew our flag upside down and under their flag. They also chanted “reconquista” and offered to rewrite history with a concept they call Aztlan.
I could go on for some time about their “dream” but, I’ll let the folks find out for themselves;

“The people don’t realize who does most of their jobs for them. Who cleans houses? who babysits? who cooks for America? It is mostly illegal immigrants.”
You speak of ignorance?
in 1980 we had 70% 80% less illegals in the country and still houses were clean, food was cooked and children had babysitters.
Americans don’t need illegals, that is ignorant to think.
If you break US laws you are a criminal. If I do it, I am one, if you do you are one….and if 20 million Mexican Citizens do, then they are all cirminals.
In Mexico it is a Felony punishable by 1 year in jail, 10 years on second arrest.
“consideration or find it in your heart to be understanding”
America accepts more immigrants LEGALLY from mexico than any country in the world from any other country.
LEGALLY. We dont need the additional 1 million criminal to open our hearts. America has opened our hearts and 1,000,000 additional illegals have jumped on the pile and ruined a good thing.
1. You must be really racist to mention that $340 Billion were wasted. Americans themselves cost this country money as well as “immigrants would. Perhaps I’m hearing a little racism?
2.”in 1980 we had 70% 80% less illegals in the country and still houses were clean, food was cooked and children had babysitters.”
–Please explain to me how the government would estimate the immigrants who cross the border?! Do they count all the people in the world to find out how many are missing and automatically assume they’re in this country? Come on….get real…there is no estimate that could be close enough to what they even think.
Even so, if that was true, I bet the individuals taking care of those jobs were the IMMIGRANTS who were able to obtain the green card in time plus the ones that were still here illegaly. When will you see an AMERICAN doing construction?! you can’t even imagine yourself doing that, because you wouldn’t have the guts to do and go through what those unlucky ones would go through.
3. Everyone is speaking about “Mexico this, Mexico that” and SINCE WHEN?! do “immigrants” become Mexicans?! This is to only show the stereo-types of today’s society. How racist we have become, and think of ourselves superior to others for being USA citizens. We all sweat and use a toilet as well as Mexicans and others do. We are all humans. You tell me I’m ignorant, but you need to grow up and realize we are all one instead of being misguided by stereo-types, racism, and society…that only shows how close-minded and weak we are by being influenced by others the way we are. This is what our country has come to.
4. “America accepts more immigrants LEGALLY from mexico than any country in the world from any other country.”
Another point proven! Please tell me this: If America accepts so many immigrants, why in the world would they need to cross the border! AMERICA DOESN’T ACCEPT THEM ! You are so full of it. If that was true the “green card” wouldn’t exist. So get your facts straight before you speak.
5. Let’s remember that we are doing this for college students who aren’t able to get an education like all others. JUST for a green card! Are those attending college, with a High School Diploma or GED, criminals too? NO! They are trying to make something out of themseleves to show they are not criminals like all others say. To show that they can achieve goals as well, and work as hard as any other! This is what the DREAM act is for, for college students. Were we TOO caught up in our racist minds to realize that?
6. “LEGALLY. We dont need the additional 1 million criminal to open our hearts. America has opened our hearts and 1,000,000 additional illegals have jumped on the pile and ruined a good thing.”
A good thing?! What was so good about it before that’s different now! huh?! America has always been the same. Just because we grew up to become racists, doesn’t mean immigrants have made this country worse. Because whatever crime an immigrant does, Americans do as well.
7. Unless it’s ONLY those Immigrants commiting crimes in this country…then i take it all back. I mean i guess I’m wrong because Americans NEVER commit any murders or kill people. I forgot we were all perfect. You are all RIGHT!. Immigrants are the killers, the robbers, the thefts, the criminals. Americans would never do such thing!
PS: please note the sarcasm!
8. GROW UP PEOPLE! WE AREN’T PERFECT! AND JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE COMES FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY DOESN’T MEAN THEY ARE AUTOMATICALLY CRIMINALS! WE SHOULD STOP SEEING OURSELVES MORE SUPERIOR THAN THOSE AND THINK MATURELY, NOT BY WHAT SOCIETY WANTS US TO THINK!!!
“GROW UP PEOPLE! ..JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE COMES FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY DOESN’T MEAN THEY ARE AUTOMATICALLY CRIMINALS!”
Actually when they come illegally, it does. When you break US laws, you are a criminal. In most other nations of the world you would be in prison for this. That is the definition of a law.
Chory, allow me to educate you.
“Americans themselves cost this country money as well”
OK, it is our country thats what the money is for, our citizens. What part of “our” dont you get?
“Please explain to me how the government would estimate the immigrants who cross the border?! “
Well how about here for example:
http://www.csmonitor.com/2006/0516/p01s02-ussc.html
500,000 per year is the estimate by the PEW center, and about 20 Million total.
“When will you see an AMERICAN doing construction?! you can’t even imagine yourself doing that”
Thanks for making my point. In the 80’s I saw Americans doing that job, feeding their family and paying taxes. We had no shortage of roads either. Now…today 500,000 illegals per year later, im supposed to think we need illegals or our jobs wont get done? I wont buy the lie.
And actually I spent 2 years landscaping back when an American could actually get that job, and it is both hard and refreshing outdoor work. I can only wonder how many thousands of Americans who owned, loved and operated landscaping businesses (like my childhood friend Bill Cundliffe) cant anymore because the market is infested?
“If America accepts so many immigrants, why in the world would they need to cross the border! AMERICA DOESN’T ACCEPT THEM ! You are so full of it.”
There were 1,122,373 immigrants who were granted legal residence in 2005. Of those, 384,071 (34.2 percent) were new arrivals who entered the country in 2005, and 738,302 (65.8 percent) were status adjusters. Mexico, India, China, the Philippines, and Cuba are the top five countries of birth of lawful permanent residents in 2005.

It appears that the law, American opinion and statistics are all on my side again.
“They are trying to make something out of themseleves to show they are not criminals like all others say. To show that they can achieve goals as well, and work as hard as any other! This is what the DREAM act is for, for college students.”
Perhaps Mr. Caldron needs to come up with a DREAM act then, so we can give this support and American money to poor inner city American Citizens and not to ‘his’ poor people.
“Because whatever crime an immigrant does, Americans do as well.”
So do we need to import more? The crime rate in Mexico is far greater than our own, so how will importing millions of low income, low education illegals help America? If you import the ENTIRE lower class from a country with higher crime, higher corruption, less education and lower living standards….how is that going to help us?
This is why we have immigrtaion laws.
“Everyone is speaking about “Mexico this, Mexico that” and SINCE WHEN?! do “immigrants” become Mexicans?! ”
That is because we don’t lie to ourselves and pretend it isnt obvious what the main source of the problem is. Political correctness is just lying to yourself. The spanish language drivers manuals I see at the DMV are not for people from Argentina.
That’s right. You can’t handle the truth and that’s why you deleted our responses. You can’t take it like a man.
PS: I didn’t know immigrants from Argentina didn’t speak spanish. I guess we didn’t pay much attention in geography class, huh?
No actually Chory, my closest friend and peer is an immigrant from Argentina, which is why I chose that example.
They apply for Visa in most cases, even if they are going to overstay them they have english proficiency and dont require the US to pay for and pass out spanish language books.
This difference was most eveident while at his sons 2nd birthday party which was all people from Argentina and Uraguay, all of whom do not need spanish language books at the DMV.
Almost every person in my day to day life is a hispanic immigrant whom I converse with in Spanish or English.
While you were playing violin for illegals I was basing decisions on life experiences.
I delete “ignorant comments” like “Not all illegals are mexican you know!” because you don’t contribute anything and havnt read around to see that I know more about the immigration process of illegals than 95% of those trying to call me names.
Thanks for opening your mouth and making that evident though.
Excuse me Mr. Kraft but allow me to say something. I am a legal American citizen. I was born here and my family were immigrants from various European countries. This is my country and I love it as much as you do. This is a great country, and we are not the only ones who think so. Who loves America more than illegal immigrants? I ask you, would you leave your home and family for a strange land where people hate you for your race? I personally know many immigrants who do. Kindhearted people who do not even remotely resemble criminals and who probably love their neighbor more than most Americans do. If anything some Americans can learn from illegals. They truly work hard for their families. I ask you Mr. Kraft do you know any illegals personally? I wonder how you or anyone else can so harshly judge a group of people that you don’t know as anything but the “mexican who cleans the public bathroom”.
And as for the Dream Act i thoughroughly support it. I know people who came here with their parents and have lived here almost their entire lives. If you met them on the street you would not be able to distinguish them from anyother American. They speak, read and write English. They have jobs. They even go to college. you mentioned earlier how the government does so much for illegals.Excuse my frankness but this is not true. my friends, and yes they are my friends, pay tuition directly out of their own pocket. without the benefit of student loans financial aid and scholarships these people pay their tuition in cash. Imagine paying a 20,000 dollar tuition right out of your own pocket? Who loves education more than these who know that they cannot do anything with their college degree? These people pay thousands of dollars for a sense of normalcy trying to succeed like their friends. Illegals most especially those who came here before 16 are real americans. They pour their sweat and blood into the “American dream” A dream that will never become reality.
