Global Warming Terror!
I am still trying to figure out what I supposed to be scared of this week.
Last I checked it was a 3 way tie between global-warming, killer hurricanes and Man-bear-pig.
(’half man, half bear and half pig’ and just as real as the other two.)
It seems the MSM keeps feeding me something that I need to stay tuned about. In the 1970’s we were told the next ice age had begun and global cooling could kill off the planet. Now, 30 years later all scientific evidence has been reversed and we are told global warming is America’s fault and the Earth is in danger again.
1974 National Science Counsel:
“Judging from the record of the past interglacial ages, the present time of high temperatures should be drawing to an end . . . leading into the next glacial age. ”

And don’t forget Nuclear Winter!
“Concerns about nuclear winter arose in the early 1980s from several reports. Similar speculations have appeared over effects due to catastrophes such as asteroid impacts and massive volcanic eruptions.”

All of which caused Hurricane Katrina!
“Some climate scientists have concluded that more intense hurricanes have resulted from human-induced global warming. ….”
Oops, Maybe Not
“….(Expert William) Gray disagrees…..Although global surface temperatures have increased over the last century and over the last 30 years, there is no reliable data available to indicate increased hurricane frequency or intensity in any of the globe’s seven tropical basins, except for the Atlantic over the past 12 years,” Gray said.

We had also been recently told about the last 10 years being the hottest ever and this is a sure sign of the end of the world unless we go to a LiveEarth concert and immediately start playing hackysack!
Turns out that upon further review the 1930’s were actually the hottest decade on record in the US.
Actually, when I stumbled on these world figures it appears at a glance that the hottest and coldest temperature for every continent are generally before the era of mass production automobiles in large quantities.
Good to know my 8 cylinder Ford Expedition isn’t going to be the cause of the end of humanity. I will though try to find something else to feel guilty about.
Enough about all this, I need to go turn on CNN and see if tropical storm ‘tinkerbell’ is going to become a CAT6 storm on a direct hit path to my children’s daycare center!
Whatever it is in the end, whatever kills us all because of those damn SUV’s we drive, whether it is global warming, global cooling, nuclear winter, Man-bear-pig, hypercaines, Katrina, space-alien invasion, volcanos, meteors from space, killer bees, anthrax, return of the plague, the ‘boogie man’ or even ‘cooties’.
One thing is fact and we all should stand up and speak the truth.
It’s George Bush’s fault!
