English Speakers Get Out

A businessman says his landlord at the Ellendale Center in Stuart wants him out of his office space by the end of the month, in order to “complete [his] vision of converting the center to quality tenants serving the Spanish need in the area.”

Had the landlord said “i don’t like water products”, or “I want more restaurants”, then that would be acceptable, but he stated his decision is based on race.

Ivan Monroe has decided to request the long term tennant leave the plaza that he “envisions” as a Spanish speaking only storefront. Mr Munroe has decided that english speaking customers are not who he wants to serve. An eviction based on ethnicity is the short of it.

Why have you not heard of this case?
Because it’s racism against white english speakers.

And don’t pretend Ivan Munroe is thinking about services for the legal Spanish speaking community of Florida, as he clearly states his target audience for his rental property.

“”Regarding prospective other tenants to replace McKenna, Munroe said, “Mexican people come in, you know they’re going to stay. You know they’re going to pay the rent.”"

(Tom McKenna has stated he has never paid the rent late in seven years. The landlord says he has paid late, but then the landlord offers him a lease at a choice of other properties in the eviction note?)

Is there any chance that US laws will ever get enforced or respected?

Apparently Mr Munroe is banking his future on amnesty and no end to illegal immigration.

Worldnetdaily (wnd.com) has this story about the double standard that exists in cultural matters and discrimination. In an act that would be seen as highly racist if committed by the majority, is called a “vision” of culture for the minority.

Throughout history we can name a great many people with their own personal ethnic visions, and almost none of them are remembered well.

seacoast.jpg“When asked about his initial letter’s statement about his “vision of converting the center to quality tenants serving the Spanish need in the area,” Munroe told the Stuart News, “I can have a vision, can’t I? And his business just doesn’t fit there.” “

And such a beautiful and inspiring vision of commercial perfection it is with a Taqueria and money exchange for Mexican and Guatemalan currency.

Clearly water filters are not up to the high standard of offerings Mr. Munroe envisions for the future, but a service for illegals to send money out of the US economy is a dream tennant.

This is the type of American business owner that will be hurt by protecting our borders and enforcing our laws. This is the type of business choices that should be hurt for their decision to try and profit off of illegal immigration.

UPDATE FROM 9-1-07 story:

“Tom McKenna, who recently sold his Seacoast Water Care business to a competitor, told WND he now plans to sue his landlord for discrimination.

“Not reverse discrimination, but discrimination,” McKenna said. “I’m being discriminated against whether I’m Hispanic or whether I’m English. The fact that somebody’s singling me out because I don’t speak a specific language or I don’t fit their criteria of what I should be in this particular plaza I don’t think is fair.

“If it were reversed and I was Hispanic and there were two other American businesses in here occupying the other storefronts and the owner of the property said to the Hispanic business owner, ‘Guess what? You’ve got 30 days to move your business outta here because … I want an English-speaking plaza serving the English people in the area,’ there’d be a firestorm from all civil-rights groups across the country including the ACLU.”

WND has the eviction letter here as well.

The above quote says it all.

If McKenna does pursue his suit, it will make for an interesting case. However, a few things need to be cleared up.

First, there was no lease involved. Second, McKenna was not evicted. There was a rental agreement that allowed both McKenna and Munroe to give 30 days’ notice, for any reason.

There are advantages and disadvantages to such rental agreements compared with a lease. Mr. McKenna discovered the major disadvantage–you might have to move, fast.

As I said, this will be an interesting case. But please: no more talk about leases and evictions. Those are important legal distinctions that should be maintained.

What he needs to do is get his landlord to state it on paper or something. Having that proof can be his Ace in the tenents pocket. As for 30 day lease that can be terminated for any reason, if the tables was turned (white landlord and Hispanic tenant) that would be immediate grounds for court case, possibly having hate crime laws getting thrown in for good measure. Everyone preaches equallity today, but no one wants to practice it. Seems to me that most groups out there today want special favors for themselves and call that equality. How is that equality? What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Ok so it’s perfectly ok to kick people out so a landlord can convert the buisness into something that benefits spanish people but it isn’t ok to kick black people out in order to convert a buisness into something that benefits whites. The hypocrisy makes me nauseous
