After the disgraceful attacks on our leading general during a time of war most of the senate agreed that it is inappropriate bordering on treason. Not all agreed that we should support our military in the field. The ammendment voted on this past week has this exact text.

“General David H. Petraeus, Commanding General, Multi-National Force-Iraq, deserves the full support of the Senate “ - 25 NO Votes (24 Dems)

Take a look at those Senators that want to be the commander of our military, and who does not believe our commanding officer deserves the “full support”. This ammendment was not a vote on the war or ending the war, it was just a senate vote of support for the military in whatever roll they serve.

How safe will our military be under the rule of those who do not offer them full support? When you look only for failure, it is clear that you will find the result you hoped for.

Clearly the friend of our enemy is not our military’s friend.

S.Amdt. 2934 to S.Amdt. 2011 - Voted on September 20th, 2007.

“To express the sense of the Senate that General David H. Petraeus, Commanding General, Multi-National Force-Iraq, deserves the full support of the Senate and strongly condemn personal attacks on the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces.”

FOX news has an article asking why someone would vote ‘no’ to the question of “do you support our military leader?”

The answer they found is the same I see, pandering to those who pay the bills at the cost of turning your back on the military that serves us.

“But Sen. Hillary Clinton, candidate for commander in chief, she voted no. Sen. Barack Obama, who also wants to command the military, didn’t show up for the vote. Senators Dick Durbin and Carl Levin — big Dems and big anti-war guys — they voted no. Sen. Harry Reid, the leader of Democrats in the Senate, he also voted no.

Remember what they were voting on: Do you support Gen. Petraeus, yes or no. Simple. Their countrymen were saying sure you support him, why wouldn’t you. But MoveOn.org made it clear: Don’t you dare, and these Democrats showed where they take their orders from: Eli Pariser and his MoveOn Party.”
