So recently we wrote a response to an article by Rafael Zartha the editor of Mi Gente. Mi Gente (My people) is a “newspaper” for Spanish speaking readers. In one quick glance a person can see that all of the “articles” seem to relate to how illegal immigrants can continue to prosper. Fo this reason, lets call it the paper for illegal immigrants that happens to be in spanish.

Mr. Ralael Prieta Zartha also puts his opinions in Creativeloafing on occasion, but sticks to the formula of speaking for illegal immigrants hiding in North Carolina.

In one of the many articles in Creative Loafing by Senor Zartha he goes on a rant on the racism that surrounds not letting illegal immigrants get North Carolina Drivers licenses.

The article’s subtitle is:
“No more driver’s licenses for undocumented immigrants”.

Im not sure what an undocumented immigrant is? Must be like when my wife lost her purse?

We pointed out before that these people he refers to are not undocumented, because most of them have full documentation in their legal country, but it is just not America.

I don’t have a Canadian drivers license in my wallet, but that doesnt make me an undocumented Canadian.

Essentially the passed law keeps illegal aliens from receiving false id that implies that have a legal right to live in America. This falsely obtained document is then used to open more credit lines, acquire more US services and perpetuate the fraud of posing as an American.

Read what a pro-crime pro illegal immigrant article sounds like below, and what passes for news when written by an author that has only the best interests of his own race in mind.

“….on New Year’s Day 2004, Latino immigrants were awakened with the news that Division of Motor Vehicles Commissioner George Tatum planned to enact Operation Stop Fraud. Tens of thousands of Hispanics flooded the 127 statewide DMV locations. Defying freezing temperatures during January, Hispanics camped before sunrise in front of the DMV offices in order to obtain the precious license before the Feb. 2 policies began.”

Mr Zartha does what all race groups do, and try to make it about race.

This law affected all Chinese, Indian, German, Italian, Hispanic, Japanese and Pakistani illegal immigrants equally that day.

This law is in place to prevent fraud and illegal immigrants from hiding in North Carolina, there is no specification of race anywhere. Mr Zartha is the only person that seems to have associated race with this crime. There is no logical reason to oppose such a law, so race groups try to pretend its about intolerance and not his own ethnic group’s inability to follow US laws.

This law is in place to help combat those 20 million people in violation of Title 8 Section 1325.

“By that Feb. 2 date, the ITIN started to be a worthless piece of paper. The so-called seguro verde lost its value.”

Had lost its value to illegal immigrants is more accurate.

The uses of a Tax ID # in legitimate US business did not change at all. Mr Zartha shows exactly who he speaks for, and it is not America as a whole. Only illegal immigrants felt the pinch from this law being enforced, which was the goal. This change was made to fight.

“….a nightmare was initiated for Latinos who visited the DMV locations in Mecklenburg County. Stories of an unspoken policy of rejection of anyone who looks Hispanic or who has a Spanish-speaking accent at the Department of Transportation customer service branch offices have since prevailed…..”

“a nightmare for latinos?”
No sir, it was an nightmare for illegal aliens of all races. Law enforcement is always a nightmare for criminals, thats why it is so effective.

“Stories of?”
Well I’m glad that is the type of facts that make it to print.

My entire family is Spanish speaking with heavy or complete accents, none ever had any trouble anywhere, because they are not illegal aliens in hiding. The real story is that so many illegal immigrants are abusing North Carolina that they have created this bad reputation and bad stigma for the legal Hispanics. Perhaps Mr. Zartha should ask the next 10,000 illegals that move to Charlotte to please stop breaking laws and making the Hispanic community look like criminals with their actions.

Illegal immigrants are the criminals, Americans and legal residents are not, address the effect of the crime to the criminals perhaps?

Again, here is the impartial black & white US law these people have broken.

“I have personally witnessed the refusal of a naturalized citizen who lived in the US for 40 years. I have seen another legal resident, the mother of a citizen, being rebuffed after showing her legal resident card, social security card and a cable bill. The most recent episode of refusal I have witnessed was of a high school student who had the ITIN, a school ID (an Official North Carolina School Registration record) and statements of his savings account with his address.
Locally, the Latin American Coalition has received constant complaints.”

all very touching and dramatic word of mouth accounts of what ‘he saw’. None of this changes the fact that for all 3 examples he claims to see there are 10,000 people getting false identification.

Shall we ask Sheriff Pendergraph how many people he arrests with new ID’s that match old fingerprints?
Will the Latin American Coalition be following up on My father in laws identitiy theft case for us?

How many times are we going to let criminals assume new identities are falsely pretend to be Americans?

How many times will my wife’s parents have to have their identity stolen by illegal immigrants because of their Hispanic last names?
(Oh yes, thats a secret Mr. Zartha will never say outloud….most cases where illegals steal identity, they steal it from legal American hispanics)

The end of the TAX ID at the DMV was a victory for common sense and had no effect on legal Americans.

The ill effects were felt only by race motivated writers and groups rushing to defend illegal immigrants that will now have trouble perpetuating their crimes.

The NC drivers’ license law still has a long way to go in terms of refinements to preclude issuance to illegal immigrants.

As far as I know, one can still renew an expired license or re-instate a suspended license w/o having to be vetted like a new applicant for a license. Also, there is ample anecdotal evidence (recent Jones County DMV License Examiner whistle blower story) that Gov. Easley has put unofficial pressure on DMV examiners to be “soft” on enforcement of ID/Document standards.

A friend of our family I just met is a 20year old gril here illegally from Ecuador. she has not been able to get a license or register a car she told us. She is trying to get someone to register it for her.

Last I heard her american Boyfriend os going to. But, I hate to see it happen to a nice girl, who has a child with an american and wont marry her.

A real slimeball he is for that and she is feeling the effects of it.

Ont the note of the article, it appears the enforcement of the law is working.

I live in South Florida and like NC we once gave license to illegals..after 9/11 we stoped that insanity. I see hundreds of Hispanics driving cars with NC plates on them. Wonder why?

  4. Jonathan on February 13th, 2008 2:58 am

This is total racism. I am sorry. But the only thing this article focuses is in the damn negativity and the negative impact that hispanic society have in this country or in this case in N.C.

What about the millions of Illegal Hispanics living here that actually do apport, and do this country good? What about the people that work in jobs that no one else would and pay taxes?

The U.S. Government is so damn lazy that they don’t want to create a system to actually filter the illegal alliens in the U.S. that do a good thing for this country from the ones that harm it. No, they rather spend the money on WAR, Politics, etc…

Yes, I am an Illegal Allien. I am proud to say it. I finished my High School in the U.S. And currently attend College. I work and report taxes. I own two cars and drive with an expire license. Am I a criminal? Should I be in jail?

Why? Is it because I am not an American. If only you would understand what that word means. American = A person that is from the Continent ” America.”

Ooops, I guess I am an American then. I am from South america. But no!!!! U.S. citizens think of themselves as in the ” Americans.” Without even knowing what it even means.

How about you kick us all out of here. And let’s see what you ” Americans ” will do with all the empty jobs that they are gonna be. It would be a big loss for you’all. Wouldn’t it?

But you rather see someone asking for money with a sign on their hands that says, ” HOMELESS, Need Money.” When that person was born with a social security, and the benefits of this country while people like me, hardworking people, students, and honest people are just struggling and fighting for such an stupid privilege which is a License.
We are not asking to be called U.S. citizens. We ask for respect, to be treated right.

As you can see in the Constitution the it refers to everybody as people, not as in U.S. citizens only. And the BIll of rights that I quote, ” Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

I only ask for you people to be in our shoes. To try to understand what we go trough. And Yes, we do make some bad decisions, we do harm this country like anybody else. But DO NOT generalize a few for all of US.

  5. Michael Kraft on February 14th, 2008 2:41 pm

“Yes, I am an Illegal Allien. I am proud to say it. ….. Am I a criminal?”

Yes. By definition yes you are.

“Why? Is it because I am not an American. If only you would understand what that word means. American = A person that is from the Continent ā€ America.ā€”

The continent? that’s the stupidest thing I have ever heard. So If we name the continent Mexico? then we all get citizenship there too?

You think cause United states of America includes the word “america” it means all countries get to be abuse it?

So all people who live in “NEW MEXICO” are mexican citizens?

That is exactly how idiotic your attempted play on words point is.

    And lastly…

” Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances”

You think that applies to the whole world do you?>

It also says congress will defend us against foreign invasion.

The MEXICAN constitution says alos about illegal immigration.

In that CONSTITUTION it is a felony what you do. It says you cannot assemble in a political forum as a non-citizen.

So why not use that consitution?

But you conveniently want to break an entry into a spovereign nation then be saved by our laws?

Ironic that a foreigner that breaks US laws now quotes them to justify his actions.

Next time someone enters your house through a WINDOW and goes through your fridge and sits on your couch and watches you TV, because he doesnt have a TV or lots of food at his house.

Then you justify that with your same arguments. You have more so its OK that he takes it.

    Right, thats your argument?

  6. Michael Kraft on February 14th, 2008 2:46 pm

“and the negative impact that hispanic society have in this country or in this case in N.C”

Who said hispanics? its about illegal immigrants. My family is hispanic, but we are not assosiated with these criminals.

Hispanics dont NEED ILLEGALS, illegals hurt the hispanic middle class more than any other group.

Illegals NEED LEGAL HISPANICS, to march with them, but in return give only identity theft and depressed wages.

Please Jonathon dont assume all hispanics support the CRIME or entering the US illegally. LEGAL hispanic americans are often like ALL AMERICANS and opposes illegal aliens and their dreams of amnesty.

The same language doesnt mean we are brothers, Our family is ‘American first’ a lesson many illegals need to learn before they can ever be Americans.

  7. Michael Kraft on February 14th, 2008 2:47 pm

You will notice that the state with the largest NON_illegal hispanic population (FLorida) votes republican.

While the states filled with criminal aliens like California….vote Democrat.

True hispanic americans dont need amnesty, since they are not criminals.

  8. Jonathan on February 28th, 2008 3:52 am

    Well… I don’t know if you get this….
How can you call yourselves “AMericans” do you even know where the word comes from?

This nation’s name is ” United States of America” I don’t know if you understand the
” OF America ” part. I don’t know in what continent you think you live in. But Maybe ” America ” rings the bell????

I just don’t understand why you would call yourselver AMERICAN if it just does not mean that you are a United States of America Citizen and you were born here.

Im not going to argue that with you because it looks like it is pointless.

I am a crimminal by definition. But I am a crimminal that is doing a good for this country.

We, illegal immigrants do the work that YOU ” Americans” do not want to do. Is that stealing all of your jobs? I do not think so.

At least I am not like thousand of hundreds of people on the streets with a sign that read ” HOMELESS.” They have a privileges that they are not taking advantage of. While others like me wish could have them.

All I am trying to say is that not all of the illegals in this country are doing something bad for this country. Yes, there is a big part or maybe a majority that do have a negative impact in our society and the way we live, but let’s be honest we are not the only ones. What about the African-Americans who impact negatively in your society, or even the White americans, who are just not good persons with morals.

Let’s face it, we, eventhough do not have the Title to be ” American Citizens” can be better and can have a positive impact in America’s Society.

  9. Jonathan on February 28th, 2008 3:56 am

    Look it UP

    # a native or inhabitant of the United States
    # American English: the English language as used in the United States
    # of or relating to the United States of America or its people or language or culture; “American citizens”; “American English”; “the American dream”
    # of or relating to or characteristic of the continents and islands of the Americas; “the American hemisphere”; “American flora and fauna”
    # a native or inhabitant of a North American or Central American or South American country

Maybe the last definition rings a bell…
