FOX Censors Ron Paul
Found this tip on a blog that points out a clear example of FOX news tampering to hide Ron Paul.
Here is a recent Associated Press article written my Mead Gruver and published on january 4, 2008. The article was picked up by 50 thousand online papers including FOX news online.
Here is the identical article as FOX NEWS has it:
“Only Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter have passed through since September.
“Yes, there have been some appearances by the candidates in this state that otherwise wouldn’t have occurred this early in the process,” said Jim King,…….
And here is how the article appears in the other 1000 online sources that published this work by Mead Gruver.
“Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, Duncan Hunter and Ron Paul have passed through since September. Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani and John McCain have not.”
“Yes, there have been some appearances by the candidates in this state that otherwise wouldn’t have occurred this early in the process,” said Jim King,…..”
They removed a total of 2 words to save space? Omitting the candidate that raised more money in Q4 than any other Republican?
Any reason to omit a candidate that received 10% of the vote in Iowa? Duncan Hunter did not even register in either state and has been far behind Paul in support and fundraising from day one, but his name is included on Fox News.
Why use associated press content and then change it
Why would the writer have 2 versions anyway, one of which omits a candidate’s name for no reason while leaving Hunter’s name?

This is blatant, but it doesn’t surprise me.
Remember after the Iowa Straw Poll? Fox gave the % candidates finished with. Ron Paul’s name was excluded from the results. They had the higher finishing candidates, and lower finishing ones; but Ron Paul, at 9%, was not on the list. Others, who finished much lower, were.
I left my opinion of Fox news in Manchester, NH last night with 300 hundred others…
Thank you for reporting this. I reported it to the AP and even though it might not constitute a violation of AP policy(that seemed uncertain), it certainly constitutes a BLATANT example of Faux News continued attempts to take away choices from the citizens they are supposed to be working for.
As an American this is the most sickening, blatant display I have seen of media bias in all my years. Faux News is a sleepy opiate for millions of Americans who need to wake up.
Michael,
The author, Mead Gruver released the story to the Associated Press twice. The first release had the error where Ron Paul’s name was omitted. The author released a corrected story about nine hours later. Most papers had already posted the first incorrect story. Most reposted the corrected version without deleting the original incorrect story from their websites.
Thank you for covering that.
But this goes far beyond bias - it is outright intentional falsehood. In most sane places, that’s called “lying.”
They took a true sentence and turned it into a false one, on purpose, when the truth was readily available for them to print.
It is a small issue, and there have been much greater journalistic offenses in the past. Though I will not be voting for Paul, I still can’t imagine how the ‘editor’ of that sentence still has a job. To lie on such a small thing is petty and stupid, but also casts a large cloud over the rest of Fox. If they’ll let this go, why not bigger offenses?
Hi Michael,
This is Brian over at Paulunteer.com (the website that broke this story). I’m glad to see you thought it was worth picking up.
I think we can all agree, no matter our political persuasion, that this sort of crass manipulation by media outlets is simply unconscionable.
By the way, a citation by way of a hyperlink would be greatly appreciated.
Take care!
Well, it IS FOX News. Nothing like this coming from their dark and seedy little corner of their own war-hungry self-improvised little fantasy world suprises me anymore.
Also, notice how when they DO mention Dr. Paul, it’s to state that he has “no chance”, as if they hope that stating that over and over will convince the public that it is true. (And sadly, these tactics often work).
Well, my friends. It’s a sign of the times, I’m afraid. Misinformation, omissions of truth and sheer propaganda is the only way the elite can hold on to their power. FOX is not even trying to hide it anymore. Unbelievable! Thank God for people that pay attention. But who are we kidding? How much can we count on the rest of MSM?

Go, Dr. Freedom!!
FOX is neither a news outlet nor a business. If it were either, it would have been dead a long time ago. Quite simply, it is a propaganda-disinformation machine that is working against the people. With all the hysteria about “domestic terrorism” and so forth, why isn’t this organization being investigated more rigorously? I know there’s “stuff” out there on the Internet, but we have to work to find it. Can’t there be more “push reporting” to expose this organization?
Fox News will pay by being boycotted by Ron Paul’s supporters!
As this is my first comment, I would like to
to thank you for Charlotte Conservative News!
It is a thrill to know that CCN is supporting
Ron Paul!
I wasn’t sure when I posted my first comment,
but the Constitution Party is supporting Ron Paul.
Fox has also censored Ron Paul’s performance at the recent SC debate — removing his response about being electable.

This is a shame, America has become a totalitarian facist regime, Ron Paul has been removed from most news, stories and reports, his second spot in Nevada is barely reported, medias (just a handful of owners these days) seem to hate the uncorrupt politician despite his popularity to Americans
