MSNBC Disgraceful Towards Paul

Just 2 minutes ago I am watching the MSNBC coverage of the Nevada primary.

The exact same graphics being used from all other primaries is being used today with a distinct change.

In ever race Ron Paul has finished third, so I never get to see his numbers since MSNBC always shows the top three Democrats, and then the top three Republicans numbers on the screen.

Well they just called Romney the winner over Juan McCain at 3:43 EST.

They then flash Obama, Hillary and Edwards graphic up showing 48%, 46% and 5% for Edwards.
They then show the Republican numbers and only show two candidates numbers in their NEW GRAPHIC.

For the first time in all the primaries they decide to use a “top 2″ candidate graphic, because Ron Paul is a very close third place with 12%.

In all other primaries they show the top three in their default graphic, and for the first time in all the coverage they decide its time to use just the top 2.

They still show the top three in the Democrat race, even though Edwards is 36 POINTS behind the second place slot of Hillary, But the don’t show Ron Paul third when he is only 1% behind being in second place.

Obvious enough for you all?

Ron Paul is almost tied with McCain in Nevada and has raised more money for his candidacy than McCain in the last 6 months, but MSNBC decides today is the day to not show third place, and ONLY for the Republican graphic.

Disgraceful coverage, shameful anti-Ron Paul sentiment from the mainstream and corrupt media.

This comes after CNN used the pie chart graphic in the last primary and showed the top four Democrats in the pie chart including Richardson, whos long name took up alot of space and cluttered the chart, but only showed the top three Republicans omitting again Ron Paul as fourth.

Paul had a larger percentage and was a much higher fourth place than Richardson as well.

Update: 9:11pm EST
I have spent almost 3 hours watching coverage today, mostly of Nevada. I have not heard the words Ron Paul stated a single time on MSNBC the entire time I have been watching TV today, I have heard the name John McCain mentioned 17 times so far and that is just since I started counting.

I have also not seen the face of Ron Paul on TV for even a single second today. Not one image or mention of Ron Paul in my entire time watching the news today, which is close to 3 hours worth.

Paul finished 2nd, McCain finished 3rd.
Still not a single mention of his name.

Not one time all day, anywhere, ever.

How does that happen if not on purpose?

Last but not least (plug), grab some Ron Paul gear on our site here.

Lucky for us nobody watches MSNBC

  2. ende on January 19th, 2008 5:13 pm

Absolutely agree. How, I ask, is this sort of manipulation any different from the Russian ‘elections’. They’re eerily similar.

  3. Tracker on January 19th, 2008 5:14 pm

    Yeah, they’re pretty transparent.

And Michael, your post is full of typos.

  4. Angela on January 19th, 2008 5:14 pm

Man, really, you are surprised? Keep watching….It will only get worse.

  5. Erik on January 19th, 2008 5:15 pm

Way to go! Thanks for bringing this out into the public. The MSM’s blackout of Ron Paul is absolutely shameful!

here is a pic of fox news intentional editing election results to trick people.

It shows in text on the bottom romney mccain paul
but the top 3 people in PICS are romney mccain huckabee(4 in votes)

Sadly, MSNBC is not alone. Dr Paul still cannot get his picture in leading papers such as the Washington Post. On Saturday, the New York republican’s image was there, in spite of lower results…but not Ron Paul. As a side note, I was in a store called “making history”. T-shirts and other items were displayed for Clinton, Obama, Giuliani, Kerry, etc but nothing for Paul (not even an eraser…which at this point seems appropriate.

  8. DIANNE MOEN on January 19th, 2008 5:19 pm

I am a Ron Paul supporter.

  9. joseph on January 19th, 2008 5:27 pm

It won’t stop the movement. Ultimately the media will pay a price for all this. We who are the cognoscenti aren’t deceived nor deterred.

  10. Will Pelant on January 19th, 2008 5:31 pm

MSNBC might want to tell Mr. Kraft to edit his material before submitting it online. His grammar is so atrocious that, at first, I presumed he was writing it as a verbatim quote from someone for whom English is a second language.

  11. TimM on January 19th, 2008 5:34 pm

It just makes you wonder why they are so scared of Ron Paul that they try to hide him? People don’t let the media tell you who to vote for. I challenge you to look at Dr. Paul’s website and to see for yourself if his view on the issues match your own.

Think of this.. 51% of ever dollar the government spends goes to defense or homeland security - a 30% decrease in defense spending would have been enough to balance the budget and not run the deficit higher.

  13. Anthony on January 19th, 2008 5:37 pm

Agreed, they should call MSNBC “Fox News 2″.

  14. Anthony on January 19th, 2008 5:39 pm

Now that Paul is in second place they will only show Romney.

  15. Patrick Hooper on January 19th, 2008 5:54 pm

Good for you! Im glad to see someone writing an article about this. People always seem to think that one is a “conspiracy theorist” when you talk about the media suppression of Dr. Paul. You think Fox not inviting him to the NH debate would have been evidence enough (There story was there was no room, however if you watched the debate it was clearly a lie).

My hope is that with Paul (hopefully) coming in 2nd in Nevada that the MSM has no choice but to start mentioning him.

  16. Tron Denver on January 19th, 2008 5:56 pm

What are we to think about these obvious anomalies? We shouldn’t look to far into it, lest we be labeled the dreaded theorist of the conspiratorial nature.

Well, if I were conspiracy minded, which I’m not, I would point out that the one candidate who talks about the danger’s of the military-industrial complex (since Ike is no longer around to carry the flame) gets the raw deal from the media corporations that are subsidiaries of the companies that make all the munitions. But I’m sure thats just wild conjecture.

One more thing thats absolutely hilarious. Now that the economy is screeching to a halt, the omniscient team of Bush-Bernanke have hatched an ingenious “economic stimulus” plan. The plan consists of - you guesses it - reducing taxes for the business and individual. Not only have these generous men deemed it beneficial for you to keep more of the fruits of your labor, they have offered a tacit endorsement Ron Paul’s Laissez-faire economic philosophy.

They should have listened to the good Dr. Paul long ago, he’s been saying that less taxes = economic stimulus since the 1970’s.

Great article, Mr. Kraft, it’s good to see that not everyone is positively out their gourd.

  17. Linda on January 19th, 2008 6:06 pm

Finally, someone writing an accurate analysis of the shenanigans of old media!
As Dr. Ron Paul keeps moving up, they will be required to mention his name, as brief as their mention may be - it will at least most know he is still in the race!

  18. voiceofthepeople on January 19th, 2008 6:07 pm

Yeah, nobody is voting for the guy who follows the US (not foreign) Constitution anymore so make sure you don’t either. STAY AT HOME Ron Paul supporters. He can’t win so vote for us. STAY AT HOME Ron Paul supporters. You swear to uphold what? Civil liberties? Free speech? The Us Constitution? What the hell is that? Screw the US Constitution. Screw the Economy. Screw the Republic. Don’t vote for the Duke Medical School finance nerd, Dr. Paul, the guy who has studied economics for 30 years and ran several of his own successful businesses while providing free or reduced cost healthcare to poor people of all races so they wouldn’t die prematurely. The guy with the A+ average who voted to hunt down Bin Laden and against the Iraqi War as a response to 911 hysteria will never win.

I am voting for the Vietnam era USAF flight surgeon who showed a willingness to risk life and limb for his country when some fled to Canada, who never voted for an unbalanced budget and who incidentally has more support among our military and brave veterans than any other candidate (Republican or Democrat). How did they know about him way before the rest of America? Should we be investigating this…?

  19. Fazsha on January 19th, 2008 6:16 pm

Believe me, I’ve noticed the same thing. Fortunately here at 2:15 pst Ron Paul rose to second, but of course now they just talk about So Carolina. If we could only get Rudy and Fred to drop out. McCain’s appeal confounds me.

  20. Frank on January 19th, 2008 6:23 pm

Thank you for mentioning this Mr. Kraft. Online folks have been discussing this for months. It not only strange, but comical and childish.

This is the bitter end of OLD MEDIA and the NEW YouTube elections.

With Paul looking strong in Nevada and SC and all his other opponents broke and an unelectable Mormon, meet your new President: Dr. Ron Paul.

  21. john q on January 19th, 2008 6:26 pm

Welcome to the real world. Now that you are awake, I suggest you take a look at ALL the media coverage. Paul has been omitted from every channel wherever possible (unless of course it is something “bad”) I.E. bunny ranch in NV supports Paul, etc.

  22. amber on January 19th, 2008 6:44 pm

I agree… The media does not even want to mention his name. At this point, though, it looks like they will have to… he’s beating mccain at 80% reporting.
    But please fix your typos…

    Go Ron Paul!!

I am completely disguisted by the mainstream media and biased coverage of Ron Paul. Every debate or primary coverage they attempt to block him out of the public’s eye, in a futile attempt to protect the candidates that would like us to choose from for president….and I’m so sick of it!!!

The good news is that their bias in the presidential coverage is back-firing, and We The People are starting to wake up to the alternative (and open) media available online!

Don’t expect to get any REAL news from the mainstream media….you only get what they wan’t you to see.

  25. Robert on January 19th, 2008 7:31 pm

Hi Michael thanks for your aticle and your right Ron Paul gets no respect. But all this is because they MSNBC and Fox,CNN are all bought and paid for by the C.F.R. They are all puppets on a short leash and the C.F.R. is scared to death of Ron Paul wonder why??maybe the criminal Federal Reserve? But the sad part is most of America doesn’t have a clue they think these people are fair and balanced but i must say i’m glad to see not all media is corrupt thank you Patriot.

I’m not surprised at MSNBC nor with CNN, FOX, and the other mass media all owned by the same people. Internet is the new way to get information, unfortunately the old people are so entrenched with the media brainwashing, we have wait until the go away.

  33. Mike on January 19th, 2008 8:25 pm

It’s good to see that someone in the print media has the guts and fairness to point out the deceptive ways of the large corporate media outlets. Ron Paul has been placing well in all of the states, especially when you consider he is being fought back by the mainstream corporate media and the status quo that rules Washington DC. It’s a shameful way to treat this rspected 10 term Congressman and the American public. They are making a mockery of the United States democracy and our election process. It’s absolutely an American tragedy. Shame, shame. Ron Paul 2008. www.WWRPD.com .Learn.

I was absolutely amazed that after I posted my previous post, I looked at the collumn on the right of this very page and there is a CCN Presidential poll with Ron Paul’s name completely left off! What a joke!

Reread the poll, it is if you HAVE TO CHOOSE from the mainstream 4, who would you pick.
We all know Ron Paul wins all polls here, so the point is to see who his and other people will migrate to if he is not a choice.

CBS, in their feed to their local stations for the afternoon news, went so far to say McCain had come in second with no mention of Dr. Paul!

The media in this country is doing their best to control this Presidential race.

The citizens of this country better wake up!

HEY HEY, on the typo front. You see I wrote this 2 minutes after watching as I stated above, on my laptop, while trying to continue watching this SCAM for more like this. I did run it through MS WORD check on my laptop, but again I was mobile and watching while entering it realtime.

I guess all the Ron Paul supporters are Honors english teachers, but it was an error or 5 of situation I assure you all.

    @MIKE
“I looked at the collumn on the right of this very page and there is a CCN Presidential poll with Ron Paul’s name completely left off!”

Youll notice th POLL is “of the FOUR MAINSTREAM CANDIDATES, who would you choose if you had to.”

So try not to take it too far. I have written and supported Dr. Paul here more than 95% of those making comments like that, so please dont bite the hand so quick, since we are on the same team here and you just misread the poll.

    Go Ron Paul.

  39. Michael Kraft on January 19th, 2008 10:28 pm

CONTINUED POINT: The point of that poll is,….I know Ron Paul will win any poll on my site, so I pose the question to see who comes next if need be.

Seems Romney is the next best in most eyes.

  40. lois on January 19th, 2008 10:29 pm

I am silently screaming as well! This so sucks! And I’m 62, on SS, and I am very ****ing pissed off! I love Ron Paul (and I’ve never voted republican in my life before)! Let’s not give up. He never said he wouldn’t go independent. Never say never!! The revolution must continue, no matter what. Let’s keep sending our donations. Don’t lose the faith!

  41. t quigly on January 19th, 2008 10:45 pm

so Ron Paul comes in 2nd - so now what will the lame-stream-media do? show only the 1st place winner?

Ron Paul for the long haul moneybombs:
1/21 - Free At Last (Dr. M.L.King holiday)
4/17(?) - Ron Paul Tax Free Money Bomb! (supporters donate Duhhhbya’s alleged $600 tax rebate to the Ron Paul campaign)

The times they are a changin’

  42. musings on January 19th, 2008 11:10 pm

The media is obviously biased, and I am wondering whether following the money could solve the puzzle, or whether indeed they have principles and Ron Paul abides by another set. That would mean something serious is going on in suppressing knowledge of who he is and how many people are voting for him and why. Who, what, when, where, why, you know, like old-fashioned journalism - we don’t get a lot of that anymore, except where vulgar p.r. is concerned and where some heinous crime demands our undivided attention.

The one sighting I had today of their bias was in the Nevada primary. Ron Paul was about 100 votes ahead of McCain, but both appeared to be at 14%. Therefore, the network reported McCain to be in second place, since the percentages were tied. If this isn’t taking something newsworthy and playing it down, I don’t know what is.

Frankly, I wonder why the network opted to prefer in this instance the same candidate - McCain - Kissinger declared that he preferred. It’s not about war hero status trumping anything. McCain was indeed a POW (and descendant of admirals) but Paul also served in the military as a flight surgeon. So it’s not about patriotism, is it?

Maybe it is about the willingness of so many of the candidates to keep taxing us for optional wars. That’s one thing that keeps the news business happy. “You furnish the photos, I’ll furnish the war. Remember the Maine.”

  43. cathy on January 19th, 2008 11:24 pm

McCain has no appeal, what he has are the people who count the votes. The machines in South Carolina are just like the ones in this video where they hacked the vote with one memory card.In Nh recount there are missing memory cards. This utube link shows the vote can easily be hacked by one guy.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzPXer7946E&feature=related

President Ron Paul 2008 to save America!
Thank you for mentioning this old media blackout. I hope this article does not get censored or deleted like so many others. The old media will pay for their manipulation of American Politics. The revolution will take their revenue by walking away from their sponsors, selling their stock, cancelling cable.
The true american Patriots will once again vote for someone who believes in American values and give the people back their liberty.
A vote for honesty is a vote for President Ron Paul!

  45. Don on January 19th, 2008 11:48 pm

The MSM will go out of their way, do anything they can, to marginalize the message that Ron Paul brings. They will use any and every neo-con “journalist” voice available to keep his message from being heard and to force their neo-con candidates (McCain, Huckabee, Romney) down the throats of the citizens; anything at all to get voters to believe that it is oh so honorable, oh so righteous, to continue to sacrifice the warm and precious lives of our military men and women in the cause of empire building. How much more blood must be spilled to satisfy the lust of these neo-cons?

  46. Luke Thomas on January 19th, 2008 11:51 pm

MSNBC also calls Rudy’s tax cut the “biggest ever” yet, nobody comes close to Paul’s tax cut…

Every interview that Paul has been given has been cut from public viewing since the interviewer failed to make him look stupid…

questions directed to do the same thing were also cut from the debates… it is so obvious the the Fed Reserve has its paws on the puppet strings yet, the core of America is to lazy and apathetic to care… stuffed on McDonald and watching American Idol; dumbed and numbed and oblivious!

  47. MiconRender on January 20th, 2008 1:03 am

I really hope someone does NOT start bombing the media outlets. I am not sure what makes them feel so safe from BLOW BACK. They don’t want to make the American people feel helpless. No matter who does it they will say it is Paul’s revolution and cover that story for sure. They can’t be so dumb as to think this will not become a problem. Unless they want it so Bush can have his marshal law and postpone elections. I feel it coming people. Something wicked this way comes….

  48. lee on January 20th, 2008 2:34 am

I am Canadian and used to hold MSNBC and Kieth Oblermann in higher regard than the rest of the alledged “news” channels. With the shameful treatment of the only true “American” candidate ,Ron Paul, by this
entertainment channel I have decided to tune them out and get my news from the web. If Mr

MSNBC is a disgrace for not showing Ron Paul, who was in third place with double digits.

  51. Alex L on January 20th, 2008 2:57 am

I agree completely. My brother and I watched the entire process and were amazed at how blatantly Ron Paul was being ignored. Like you said, it was nearly three hours before Ron Paul was even mentioned. I don’t believe he was even televised for his victory speech, but I’m not sure, as I turned MSNBC off. I hope Tucker goes ballistic on NBC management tomorrow!

For the 10,000th time - READ THE POLL
The poll on the right says of the 4 MAINSTREAM ‘big 4′ who would you choose.

We ALREADY HAD a poll of all the candidates, and it is RIGHT ON THE HOMEPAGE with RON PAUL the easy winner.
    and it is also here
    http://www.charlotteconservative.com/index.php/2007/10/election-2008-presidential-poll/

When you have done as much to support Dr. Paul as we have here, come back and read a bit better then throw insults.

  54. Jack Trade on January 20th, 2008 6:12 am

I just finish watching CNN international and although they mentioned he got 2nd place, they called him the “dark horse libertarian candidate.” also, when they showed S.C. in their pie chart, Guilianni’s 2%, overlapped Ron Paul’s results.

  55. Trixxy LeFey on January 20th, 2008 11:26 am

When all is said and done and the general election is over, win or lose, I hope Ron Paul sues the networks over discrimination. The beauty of this is, it is so well documented, by the msm itself, that this would be a slam dunk for Ron Paul. The censorship is blatant and everywhere. This is a fight for the soul of America. If we lose the election, the Ron Paul Revolution will go on. We will still be a force to be reckoned with. We will make it our mission to expose corruption and bias in all aspects of politics and media. We will throw our energy and our resources into promoting third party candidates who promote a return to constutional goverment. Everywhere they turn, we will be there. Long live the rEVOLution!

  56. Wolfsheim23 on January 20th, 2008 11:39 am

If only there was a way for everyone in the country who wanted to rebel against fox could be organized to call their cable company and purposely have them BLOCK FOX on a set day. If they could Block a channel that would send a definite undeniable signal to FOX and all their sponsors that people are seriously tuning out in a measurable way. And it wouldnt even have to be related to Ron Paul. But rather to all Americans who are just fed up with FOX’s biased, beligerant, and shameful way of treating their viewers. Im sure enough people would gladly do without their “Prison Break” for an indefinite period of time. Its easier to just torrent TV episodes anyway =) It’s too bad the Cable Company doesnt have the control to block specific free channels. I suppose we could all make a bigger statement though and turn off all our basic channels on a given day and make sure the press knows why we are all shutting off our TV basic cable channels. That would be HUGE!

  57. Marjorie Miller on January 20th, 2008 2:22 pm

Thanks for keeping tabs on this. This is being filed in our brain “evidence file”.

We now know that our government and our media and our ballot boxes are owned by the “invisible government”.

Now we’re going to see how hard they fight when we try to take it all back. Let’s hope this will only be a velvet revolution. But these are the same people who killed JFK, RFK and MLK, who we ironically celebrate tomorrow. All of our lives are on the line now.

They will blatantly censor. They will blatantly steal elections. They will blatantly murder.

I saw a show about Russian journalists, and the guy was saying how many of his journalist friends had been murdered.

These are very bad people, but it’s not just in Russia. The US Government has now gotten completely lawless, and no doubt has murder up their sleeve as well.

My respects to MLK. May we all be as brave. They can’t kill all of us, I think…well maybe they could…;)…if they ever find their WMDs.

BTW, I saw a great Lewis Black comedy show last night, and he said, he personally can’t understand why the government didn’t just tell everyone they found the WMDs…or plant them?…bizarre…did they lie about finding them?…interesting concept…

Nice Article. I was flipping between CNN and MSNBC as Ron Paul was catching McCain and I also was amazed that they were not showing Ron Paul when he was almost tied for second. It made me wonder if next they would only show Mitt in first place when Ron Paul moved into second place…

  59. Web Smith on January 20th, 2008 7:29 pm

    People are actually doing this.

We like to say that FOX is doing it or CNN is doing it when it is actually people who have bought into a culture who are the culprits. While FOX may be comprised of people but even they can relieve themselves of guilt by saying that it is company policy and they are just doing their jobs. You are allowing them to disassociate themselves personally when they know that what they are doing is wrong. It allows them to argue that The Company is not biased but just believes that it better serves the people by covering the candidates who are more likely to win. FOX News is a non-living thing and it has no ears.

When you say FOX is doing it, it doesn’t hear you and it has no guilt. You are relieving the people who work at FOX of their complicity and responsibility. If you were to say that the biased people at FOX News are ignoring their moral responsibility by intentionally excluding Ron Paul from the news, it might be more effective. If you were to say that the anti-American people at MSNBC are not fulfilling their freedom of the press responsibility, someone might hear you.

Better yet, if powerful word like racist or NAZI could be discovered and applied to these people, it might get their attention. If you could write that the bigots at NBC are violating Ron Paul, it might result in change.

I did hear Keith Olbermann mention Dr. Paul’s second place finish one time at the very beginning of their show and Chris Matthews scoffed in the background. What a jackass.

If those two don’t deserve Olbermann’s own “Worst Persons” award then nobody does.

Then I watched them mention Gulliani time and again when even a nobody like me can see that he’ll never be president; he’s a scumbag and an incompetent politician to boot!

I used to like Olbermann for his rants at the administration but it is quite clear now that he, too, is mainstream all the way. See ya, Keith… NOT!

I never watch MSNBC anyway. Ron Paul is the only candidate that votes by our Constitution - the law of our country. The corrupt bureaucracy (politics/media) can’t stand that someone honest might be in charge. They can’t blackmail him.

Soooooooo….. what happened when you asked them to explain their actions? Since you seem to have collected a lot of firsthand evidence, you should take it to the next step and follow up with MSNBC. Who the f*ck do they think they are? We OWN them. Haven’t they heard of shareholders and pension funds? My other favorite was when CNN just left a big ass chunk of their pie chart blank before they’d put Paul’s name in there - like it belonged. I used to be disgusted. Now, I try to be amused.
