I thought i was the only writer in Charlotte who understood or followed Chavez. Turns out Hailey Wilson of the Examiner does get it also. While I dont agree they are on the same level, I get she’s making a point.
Maybe Obama will change the US flag next? or the currency? Or the time zones? Or the constitution? Or Close Fox Network for being traitors?
See Obama has a ways to go, but hes ahead of the pace Chavez took to communism.
“In one of Hugo Chavez’s customary anti-capitalist, pro-socialist speeches Chavez spoke on Tuesday about Washington’s takeover of General Motors corp. and called Obama his ‘comrade.’ The U.S. government will control a 60 percent stake in the 100-year old company.
With his Cheshire-cat-grin, Chavez joked: “Hey, Obama has just nationalized nothing more and nothing less than General Motors. Comrade Obama! Fidel, careful or we are going to end up to his right.”
Chavez is notorious for his program of expanding government and socialist control in Venezuela. He has nationalized many of Venezuela’s private sectors, including the country’s profitable oil project.
Chavez has been a harsh critic of America, but has toned down his rhetoric since Obama entered office.”
